  1. LOL- larnach with the weak hit that scores the run and gets on base - how does that happen??? Watching on gamecast
  2. Caratini with the hit to load the bags. We need 2+ runs this inning. Come on Larnach.
  3. Wallner with a hit to Center with 2 strikes - Bell HBP with 2 ball count. Caratini - move them over and lets see us get 2 runs in.
  4. Damn is this thread the morgue or am I posting in the wrong thread? LOL
  5. I'll take that for the 1st inning of Ober. 1 K, ended on weak contact. 1 walk to Alonso. 18 pitches. Can he get us through 5 inning?
  6. Ober with a strikeout. Something he couldn't do in his last start of spring training either.
  7. Ober broke 90 mph barrier barely, couldn't do that in his last 2 spring training starts. Can he dial it up to 92, just maybe?
  8. Unless Ober's velocity increases 1 of Priellip or Rojas are the likely pitchers to take his spot. Maybe Matthews settles down. But those 2 have the best stuff. I will be laughing if Rojas Bradley and Abel are leading us to the playoffs after the consternation after the tradeline last year. There are 2 threads I might be bumping regularly lol.
  9. For the #3 its either Lebron or Emerson, and then a good drop after this. This is very reminiscent of the 2023 draft where there were 5 considered elite prospects and we got the last one. This draft appears to have 3 studs. The end of season tankathon appears to have been fruitful so far with our pick.
  10. The MLB Prospect Promotion Incentive (PPI) awards teams an extra draft pick after the first round if a top-rated rookie prospect makes the Opening Day roster, accrues a full year of service time, and wins Rookie of the Year or places top-three in MVP/Cy Young voting. This initiative aims to curb service-time manipulation. MLB.com +2 Key Details on PPI Draft Picks Eligibility Criteria: Players must be on at least two preseason Top 100 lists (Baseball America, ESPN, MLB Pipeline) and have fewer than 60 days of prior service. Requirements: The player must be on the Opening Day roster (or called up within two weeks) and accrue 172 days of service. Reward: An extra pick in the MLB Draft immediately following the first round.
  11. https://www.mlb.com/video/derek-shelton-on-taj-bradley-s-start-twins-win “There were some good swings, great at-bats,” Albernaz said. “It’s just, it looked like we struck out a lot of backup breaking balls. Off-speed, too, up in the zone. And those are the pitches you want to hit. It’s early in the year. I believe our guys would be on time for those and make the adjustment, but I like our at-bats up and down. We made Taj work. Taj has really good stuff on the mound. His split was firmer than what we’re accustomed to, what I’m accustomed to, but we had really good at-bats. We just couldn’t get the big hit today.” https://www.masnsports.com/blog/entry/bradish-takes-loss-in-2026-debut-nunez-makes-most-of-major-league-debut/
  12. A #5 pitcher doesn't fan 9 batters out of 13 outs nor throw 100 mph and have a good curve ball, splitter and slider. He has some things to work on, but he legit has the stuff to be elite. He worked hard that 1st inning but he kept us in the game. I stand by it like I did at the trade deadline. I really like Bradley and Abel. Bradley needed to grow up, get serious about being a pitcher, do the homework, take care of his body and continue to work on his craft. Abel just needed another opportunity and to continue to improve. They are young and don't have a long track record of above average or elite production, but the stuff is there and both appear to be on the right track.
  13. I guess if Ober is our #5 effectively it is what it is. As a top 3 I think Ryan, Abel and Bradley could be a really strong trio. SWR can be a solid to above average #4 and then that leaves Ober. We will see what the plan is with Festa is when he comes back. If not is Matthews the next starter up? Personally his stuff hasn't been great the last year or so, and small sample size but he got hit pretty good yesterday as well.
  14. I think if he has a couple more good games he could get called up the next week and make him PPI eligible.
  15. If this was the 2023 2024 Baily Ober I would be pretty optimistic. I just really think Ober is already breaking down physically and needs that velocity to remain in the 92 to 94 range to be successful. 89 mph or less isn't going to cut it.
  16. That highlight of the Lewis homerun just makes me shake my head. Why would you ever throw inside to Lewis. Right now that is the only pitch he can hit, yes he can hit it a mile. Inside pitch he pulled. Im still very concerned on his approach.
  17. did I speak to early, 2 SO's - weak hit, then a ball off Lee's glove. Should he have had that ball?
  18. Banda struggling with his command, HBP and a Walk, lots of pitches but got 2 SO's to get out of the inning.
  19. At times he is extremely hittable. In the2nd they hit 4 extremely hard balls. The fact they only got 1 run was lucky.
  20. Questions still unanswered - Will Culpepper, Rodriguez, Gonalez or Walker be called up to be PPI eligible in the next week or two. Most likely not, Culpepper has the highest probability in my mind. Lewis at 8th again, they are either trying to take off all stress or they no longer believe in him. Larnach should have not been tendered a contract.
  21. I would have taken a chance on Jackson Kowar again instead of Alcala. He had ample opportunities to improve with this staff.
  22. We made 3 minor trades in the offseason - 1. Wagaman for Bragg 2. Alex Jackson for Payton Eeles 3. Orze for Kisting Orze is up with the big leagues - Jackson appears to be our #1 Catcher for AAA. 1 for 4 with 2 SO. We need to see those strikeouts come down a bit more, but with his glove any offense is a plus. Wagaman is the 1st baseman for the Saints and honestly in spring training and 1 game - I think it is a really solid depth piece. The defense has been better. Went 1 for 4 and BB with an RBI. A nice defensive snag. Now lets talk about Roden and Culpepper. Roden was 1 for 1 - 2 rbi's and 4 freaking walks LOL. OBP 1.000. Culpepper 3 for 5, run and rbi - his 2 outs were SO. Still those were the studs for the night. This AAA team is a nice blend of prospects- Non prospects with some experience and upside, and lots of veteran pieces in the bullpen. Jenkins, Gonzalez, Culpepper, Rodriguez and Roden is a murderers row. They are going to win a ton of games before these players start getting called up to the big leagues.
  23. I will say that the Twins Catching depth is much stronger than I anticipated coming into the season. Jeffers and Caratini in the big leagues. Alex Jackson the back up in AAA. Alex was the bare minimum trade - until we were able to lock in Caratini - but Jackson either as a future backup or replacement this year has value and more than Eeles in my opinion.
