    If he pitches half as decent as last night, he's going to be starting for the AL all-star team. I think the walks are a problem, no doubt; however, if he's limiting the hits then I'm ok with walking some. Five a game is way to many, but two or three wouldn't be detrimental as long as the hits are limited.

    Why do you think this will necessarily happen? It's not like Santana is just blowing away dudes (phrasing) with his fastball. He has 4 legit pitches he throws. Gets weak contact. He's sustained this type of pitching dating back to last July.

    Without a doubt this team needs to bring in some frontline starting pitching. I also believe we are to a point where a couple really good pitchers makes the boys contenders. One starting pitcher and two relievers. Lineup is producing. The Twins have been in most games and a couple blowouts result in the +/- run differential. #Believe

    Well I suppose we will see on Saturday if there have been any improvements in his pitching. If I remember correctly, he just couldn't hit his spots. Hopefully this is alleviated.

    Gordon may be a little much considering his year so far this year, but if he's already being pushed to second to split time Vielma is he viewed as a long term shortstop for the MLB club. I understand the thinking of getting both of them starts; however, I would think that the organization would want to entrench their shortstop of the future at that position. I also think we may be undervaluing Gordon a little bit. Baseball America ranks him as the Twins best prospect while Severino is ranked as the Nat's #9 prospect. The systems of the two teams are comparable when looking at various farm system rankings. The Nat's may have been stupid to not make that trade.

    I wonder what the resistance is to bringing up guys like Baxendale and Hildenberger? They have had success in the minors. Why not give them a chance?

    Me thinks it is time to bring Burdi to the show or bump him to AAA.
