  1. 2015 had Chris Herrmann and Eric Fryer as the second "best" catching options. I need more than one game of data before making an assertion that nothing has changed.
  2. And you simply can't make these assertions based on one game. If Suzuki is still starting two out of three games in July and is rarely removed from games in key pinch-hitting situations, then I'll be right with you, pitchfork in hand. Exactly when did the spirit of statfreak possess you, Dave?
  3. And every manager makes moves we disagree with over the course of 162 games. I tend to not get too worked up about it until the manager is consistently making statistically bad moves.
  4. No, I just don't get too riled up over one game of 162. As I implied, if this is a trend that continues, then I'll start to fret over it. I also tend to not get too riled up about any single in-game move unless it was entirely indefensible. In this case, I can understand the reluctance to go to your backup catcher on Opening Day. Would I have made the same move? Dunno. Don't really care, either.
  5. Given the oddities of last night's game and the fact it was Opening Day, I simply can't get too worked up about not pinch-hitting for Suzuki. If this continues to be a trend as the season progresses, then I'll get a bit more worked up about it.
  6. Oh, I'm not arguing the study's validity - if they took the cheap route at TF, they probably did the same for the other 29 parks. Just pointing out the most abundant and convenient parking at TF costs more than $6.
  7. Ramp A, B, or C. And it's more like $10-12, not $6.
  8. That's a lot better than throwing money at congressmen to overturn it and/or suing the federal government, a la Verizon and AT&T. And Binge On isn't the same as breaking net neutrality. It's removing a service from a data cap, not speeding up or slowing down a service. A small difference but a significant one. And should I find Binge On that distasteful, I can simply opt out of it.
  9. They don't make the Twins *more* money. From MLB and the Twins perspective, a ticket sale is a ticket sale.
  10. Third party vendors don't make the Twins or MLB any money.
  11. San Diego is great. The Padres suck.
  12. I lived in SD for a decade. Edited for clarity.
  13. But AFAIK, there is no premium for the opener. It's a tier one game but nothing more expensive than a game against, say, a division rival.
  14. I agree on most points but have no issue letting Suzuki hit. He's a contact guy and the Twins needed contact. It wasn't a terrible decision.
  15. It's soooooo ****ing irritating. It's baseball! They play every day! I understand the need to add weather cushions to the opening series but there's no good reason to do it after the first game and not the second or even third. It's complete BS.
  16. I'm not even worried how much he hurts the team, I'm worried about how much he hurts himself through repeated failure and frustration.
  17. Before we start worrying about Buxton too much, consider two things: - He's been pretty good about taking pitches today, a big step forward - He made two damned fine plays out in center
  18. No, I'm just being a smart ass. I have no idea how well Park runs.
  19. Good, Fien is off the hook for the night. He doesn't deserve to be hung with the loss. Hung, maybe. But not for the loss.
  20. Jim Thome with a pulled hammy.
  21. That Rosario kid. He may be due for regression but damn, he's a gamer.
  22. All I want is a run at this point.
  23. It's a fair question. Dunno. Seems kinda pointless.
