Coulombe gets the win

Scoring question: with SWR going less than five, could they in theory have given Duran the win?  Hard to argue he wasn't the most effective reliever.  Does qualifying for a save disqualify you from getting the win?

I think he should get both

Yes I was. That had to be scary to be living in Wichita in those days.

Not really, it was pre-social media hysteria. He wasn't active for years prior to being caught if I remember correctly.

The win always goes to the reliever that comes in for the starter when they have the lead. You can only get a save or a win but not both. Seems funny.

Thanks for keeping it all together.

Just out of curtiosity, is there another direction to settle besides down?

And i'm confused by reference to wheels in baseball. Some metaphorical thing like wheels within wheels, be they training or otherwise? Or have we merged the sport with roller derby while i wasn't paying attention?

Anyway, i am glad of the win. Baltimore has had our number of late, and it is nice to return the favor.

I don't think it always goes to that pitcher.

Official scorer has some leeway to assign it to the reliever they feel most deserves it last time i checked. But it does often happen that they were relieved because the game was on the line, and is might not often be on the line again.

I should have said, the reliever has to get the final out in the inning like tonight 4.2 for SWR and Columbe came in and got the final out in the 5th, also the Twins still had the lead for the whole game therefore Columbe gets the win. I hope I'm explaining this right.
