I'm normally not this guy but I think Breslow should be released so you can call Vargas back up because the Dodgers will probably throw two left-handers at us.

 

I'd also like to see Buxton back.

 

Calling up a bullpen arm is like replacing the fodder in the cannon. The bullpen should not have been gassed. We had an off day on Thursday and a decent start by Gibson.

Not sure how bringing Vargas up helps against LHP. Buxton is expected to be activated Tuesday.

Since the break, the pattern is Lose/Win/Lose/Win/Lose/Win/Lose/Win/Lose.....  no streaks, no two loses in a row...... sooooooo....... we take Monday and Wednesday at Dodger Staduim! Too bad for Berrios. And that means Colon wins a game? Ha. I would bet on the win coming Tuesday. Patterns don't last forever.

 

Did anyone catch this stat they showed the other night during the Yankees game? In each of the 10-game blocks this season (game 1-10, 11-20, etc.), they have gone 4-6, 5-5, or 6-4. They also haven't had a single winning or losing streak longer than four games. Unless they get swept in LA, that 10-game pattern will continue through game 100.

 

I have no idea how unusual that is, but it seems pretty rare to me. It's frustratingly maddening that they can't string some wins together, but not nearly as frustratingly maddening as being 37-60 through 97 games.

One less lefty in the lineup. 

 

I also like an extra 3 run homer threat in the lineup. 

 

And I'm willing to ignore his 2017 splits and consider his career splits instead.
