Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 Hola amigos. It's been a while since I rapped at ya. My buddy Ron was signed up for the game thread this morning, but he texted me last night to say he would be too hung over to get it posted. I told him I'd do the deed in exchange for a cold six pack and he agreed. Anyway, it's my first spring training game thread, and coach is only giving me 40 words to get it done. So I gotta make it short and sweet. In a word, yours truly is feeling great today. I pulled a double shift last night and made some serious tippage. On the way home I swung into the Quik Pik and filled the tank on the Festiva. And check this out. I also picked up four - yes four - pizzas for the freezer. Four. Seriously, I don't remember the last time I even had two frozen pizzas in the bank. The game is even on the boob toob today. Ron just texted me to say he is stopping by with the brews at noon, at which time I will be firing up the oven to do double duty on a couple of those 'zas. Yes, the afternoon is setting up nicely for your buddy Jim Anchower.* Here are the lineups. CF Buxton2B DozierDH Mauer3B SanoRF Kepler1B VargasSS PolancoC CastroLF Schuck Pitcher: Ervin Santan * h/t Onion Also, whoa, looks like an opening day lineup.
Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 Beautiful day with wind blowing in strong, it'll take strength to clear the fences today. As usual not alot of interest, and I left 45 minutes ago but I'll guess 5000 attendance today with the Canuks.
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 I surrender: where's that rap you promised??
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 The Minnesota Twins are on the air!!http://mlb.mlb.com/images/1/3/4/150487134/091915_min_sano_hr_med_yb5990h3.gif
Blake Verified Member Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 Cool, my mlb streaming to the tv in the living room is up and working!
Blake Verified Member Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 I'm not too sure about that non-error for Sano.
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 Sano hits one to opposite field. Not sure I've seen that before Kepler follows with another hit!
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 I don't know about anyone else, but great not hearing Dick Bremer....
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 Not sure I like the idea of Buxton bunting in SP. We really need him hitting and taking walks.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 Sano!!!! (that's how it's done, right?)
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 Wooohooo ... and the big man swings big!! Twins up 3-0 now.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 Sano bomb to straight center! They said left center on the TV ...
Blake Verified Member Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 Kepler, to me, looks like he was born to play right field. If both Rosario and Kepler are the real deal I cannot imagine anyone trying to take an extra base on those two.

HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 ...and Shuck has a pretty good arm!
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted March 4, 2017 Author Posted March 4, 2017 So haven't actually been watching the game (also, Ron never swung by with the brewskis). Looks like we either get the good fielding, poor hitting Sano, or the poor fielding good hitting Sano? Ugh. Put it all together big man!

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 I like itMe too, so long as they make due with one roster spot...
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 I've seen enough of Vogelsong. Next!
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 Vargas beats out an INF grounder and needs a pinch-run.
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 Wow, that was ugly. 2 throws that probably shouldn't have been made.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 Heads up base running by Gordon. I like seeing that any time of the year.
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 Heads up base running by Gordon. I like seeing that any time of the year.I really like what I'm seeing in Gordon. Maybe later this year: Polanco 2B and Gordon SS?? That would be a pretty exciting pair!
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 Woohoo ... Stubbs knocks in two ... Garver scores all the way from 1st.
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 Toronto RF has a brain fart....

That would be a pretty exciting pair!Yup ... although I think even later this year might be too soon for Gordon ... but maybe not. But I think that's what it will be soon if not sooner.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 Toronto RF has a brain fart....The wind is pretty wicked today ...
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 I might be seeing things, but it looks like the Twins talked to Pressly about his delivery. Seems a lot faster.
