Byron Buxton helped the Minnesota Twins get to 2-0 on the season by taking a few extra bases Saturday in Kansas City. A gutty performance from a struggling Sonny Gray plus another strong bullpen performance resulted in another shutout. Down on the farm, the St. Paul Saints hit four home runs, including one from Matt Wallner, to pick up their first win of the season.

I hope Julien starts seeing some starts soon at 1B over in St. Paul!! Can’t watch much more than another handful of games with Gallo facing RH pitching and looking embarrassed.

Buxton at DH is all the risk I need to seem him play with - reckless abandon on bases - hoped for 60-70 games at DH, maybe we should bump to 100 games there?

With Taylor facing RH pitching & with Gallo - Kepler in the lineup, seems like a big chunk of probable zero effectiveness. Need to see a lefty soon…….need Polanco back to free up Gordon for OF……..Kiriloff at 80% shines next to Gallo.

Kepler looks like he should not even be on the team. Has not got a hit in 3 games and he is swinging at a lot of pitches out of strike zone. In his last at bat on Sunday the pitcher threw all 7 pitches out of strike zone and he went after 6 of them. A real manager would certainly either not play him or have him take some pitches. It appears Mel has lost this hitting ability. I have been a fan of his, but am giving up on him.
