  1. I know, but I want to worry. Worrying about the Twins is comforting to me.
  2. I am jealous that their best pitching prospect looks like he has elite stuff, and our's looked like he only had good stuff. Why can't we have nice things?
  3. Do we have a 4th young starter in the minors that we can bring up to replace Hughes?
  4. Am I the only one watching so that I can see how Alex Meyer does when he comes in for Milone in the 5th inning?
  5. I agree. I took it more as "understanding" as opposed to "agreement". With the amount of money on the line, especially when several big seasons can net you a 100 million dollar (think about that!) contract, I'm amazed cheating isn't more rampant. That is an awfully big carrot to dangle in front of a guy who might just need a little more oomph to hit 30 jacks or 100 RBIs.
  6. I was looking ahead to see when the Twins might get to face a mediocre or bad starting pitcher this year.... then I remembered that everybody is a good pitcher nowadays. It's not 2004 any more. Good grief.
  7. The ERA's of the next four pitchers the Twins will face: 3.86, 1.50, 0.00, 0.00. Woof
  8. So hey, how about that Kobe Bryant last night.
  9. But my original post was NOT about statistics. It was about culture. I'm only bolstering the argument by suggesting that the Twins are "probably" going to have a losing record the year after Hunter left, just like they did the 4 years before Hunter came back.
  10. Seriously though, the statistics suggest that the Twins will have a losing record this year. They are 0-8, staring 0-9 in the face. Look at what the historical numbers say about teams with that record out-of-the-gate.
  11. 7.652 games right at the moment
  12. I usually trust the numbers and the averages to tell me what's likely to happen over the course of a season, but I can't get past these facts: The Twins sucked for four years. They brought in a clubhouse leader and veteran who shook things up and brought some chemistry to the table and they had a winning season. That guy left and they went right back to being awful. I don't think it's a coincidence. Mauer, Plouffe, and Dozier are not leaders. Everybody else is more-or-less a rookie. This team is spineless and gutless and doesn't have a single person who can get in people's faces or fire people up or call a clubhouse meeting or even throw a freaking dance party. Again, I'm a numbers guy, but all that stuff is important.
  13. This is so bad that I want it to get worse for my own amusement.
  14. Everyone knows that Sano is a bigger letdown right now than Park, correct? Pitchers are literally throwing him meatballs, dead-red, at 90-91 and he can't catch up to them.
  15. Who is the Twins' team leader? Like the guy who gives out the encouragement or the criticism, or gets people fired up, or organizes team meetings or get-togethers? From the roster, I mean?
  16. I wish I was watching the Hawk with these close strikes.
  17. 90 mph too fast for Sano. What the f--- are we watching?
  18. The Twin Cities are transitioning into Cleveland-level sports futility.
  19. I really hope they jump all over Jimenez the next few innings. His stuff is feeble compared to a few years ago.
  20. Brach is throwing 94, not like Aroldis Chapman or anything. Can Sano really not catch up to that?
  21. Buxton has great posture. Nice hit, kid.
