  1. Living in a downtown area like I do makes this game MUCH more enjoyable (Downtown St. Paul for me). So many places to go and re-stock. Also, if you actually slow down and look around at the things you're walking to, this game really gets you out to see some really cool parts of cities that you probably have never seen before (art I had never seen before, for example). Also helps that I was super into Pokemon in my elementary & middle school years (12 or so years ago now, wow).
  2. They look like nice warm-ups to me.
  3. To follow up on that though, this tweet makes me feel at least a little better about the whole situation: https://twitter.com/GobieNFN/status/692759362876604417
  4. It really is just so frustrating. The whole football program is just frustrating right now. A lot of that stems from the unfortunate Jerry Kill situation, which obviously was uncontrollable, but we're risking taking an even further step back if we don't get this ship turned around quickly. Granted nothing happens on the field for 7 months, but any momentum built in the past 3 years is starting to fade and fade quickly.
  5. If you mean worried about losing him, yeah I think that is a done deal. He will end up at a different school on signing day.
  6. I just wish the Wolves could play to yesterday's level on a much more consistent basis. It was so fun to see them competing with the Thunder and not being completely out of their depth. Granted we won't be able to replicate Zach LaVine going 14/17 from the floor very often, but it seemed everyone was really thriving in their role yesterday (except maybe Pek, but I'm beyond over him being a crucial part of this team).
  7. On a purely emotional level, I am excited to see Fernando Abad do his thing here. I originally lived in California and have always been an A's fan and really like him. I don't blame twins fans for not being super pumped about him in the long term, but I hope he really reaches his potential here.
  8. I've listened to 3 or 4 episodes of it, and I agree that it is a very good listen. Whether he did it or not though, whether he was capable or a creep holds no bearing on whether he did this or not. It may raise some red flags, but it makes him no more or less guilty. One thing they mentioned though was that Dassey's pants were practically drenched in bleach when he got him. Was that mentioned in the documentary at all? I remember the mom saying something about his pants but not that it was bleach on them.
  9. We have too much talent on this team. Because of that, we think we can talk the foot off the gas pedal and coast to victories over these obviously inferior teams. /s
  10. Pretty much a sure thing that we're losing Dredrick Snelson at this point, right? Completely taken everything Minnesota-related down on his twitter, taking lots of official visits to other schools (Penn State most recently), etc. I have hope for Claeys and this coaching staff, but I hope they picked him as coach due top his coaching ability and not to keep recruits because he has not been successful on that front minus flipping Seth Green from Oregon to us.
  11. I remember feeling so cool buying Disney under $100 per share. I'm in for the long haul so this isn't a problem in the long run obviously, just funny to think back on.
  12. Yeah I don't know if his lawyers just didn't prep him enough for those questions, or if he just simply couldn't handle the questioning.
  13. You're right. It just seems that it is very difficult to prove guilt of someone like Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa, etc. unless you catch them at the right time with a drug test or happen to catch a witness to the use of PEDs doing something wrong and they snitch on the player. Doesn't mean we should instantly assume guilt, but it makes it harder actually determine guilt.
  14. It is. She claims that Avery threatened her to do so, and that she was afraid for her well-being if she didn't however. I feel that it is a little bit convenient to say that now in January of 2016 with the case being 10+ years ago now, but if it is the truth then it is the truth. Either way has no bearing on whether Avery was guilty or not. It just provides an alternate view of Avery versus the positive light that the documentary provides of him.
  15. Not at all a slight to you, but I am very surprised that I have found someone who is unaware of who Kevin Durant is. I'm constantly surrounded by people whose lives are all sports sports sports, though. He is an NBA player who will assuredly make the max amount of money that he can. The previous poster included him because it is another scenario where Roc Nation will do everything it can to get the max amount of money available to Durant at the time of his free agency (which will be this summer). Definitely not relevant from a baseball compensation standpoint, but it is an example of Roc Nation exploiting as much as possible to get as much as possible for their clients.
  16. With only the documentary as my experiences of this case, Lenk does definitely seem like a scumbag.
  17. Your point is valid. My devil's advocate on that scenario, however, would be that in basketball you can still meaningfully contribute offensively despite being a horrid free throw shooter. In baseball, pitchers normally are unable to contribute much at all offensively. You could argue that they should just work on being better batters, but would that take away from their time honing their craft of pitching? Not a question I can personally answer, but I'd rather have top-level pitching AND top-level batting than a lesser form of both.
  18. How dare you all consider taking pitchers batting away. How else can we be as entertained as we are when Barolo Colon comes to bat??
  19. Only allow the amish to be in juries. Solved.
  20. That is a very interesting read. Sometimes it is hard to remember that it is a group of regular joe schmoes that are in these juries. While trading votes in theory seems very morally wrong, it also happens in many other avenues of life. Instead of people trying to just handle the issue here and now themselves, they frame their actions/answers based on a potential consequence/end result. The fact that personal safety was at stake also adds another layer to the mess.
  21. True. I watched this whole case, from 2002 (or 2003, i don't remember) to 2015 in a span of three days. The ordeal was much longer for the people actually involved.
  22. He switched sports there. Durant = Kevin Durant
  23. I just simply can't believe how the jury went from 7 thinking he was innocent to convicting him guilty without a reasonable doubt. I am not well-versed enough in trials to know if that is common or not though.
  24. While interesting, this won't be all that important until Sano is through his arbitration years. Hopefully we can lock him up before free agency, but they are obviously eyeing HUGE money down the line. They won't want to sign for less money now when they know he'll be in line for nine digits after a couple more seasons of production.
  25. Rubio is quietly having an average shooting season (funny laying it out that way, but that is a step up for him). LeBron isn't a lights-out 3-point shooter by any means, but Rubio is shooting better 3P%-wise than him on the season.
