  1. No way you give 5 years to these two. Next year is critical. Another failure and bye-bye.
  2. Why would Mauer even consider coming back? The Twins are going to be downright awful next year so he might as well ride off into the sunset and spend time with the family. he doesn't want to be on another 60 win team.
  3. This is spot on! Its a mirage folks.
  4. I think you hit it on the head. After what we have seen out of Buxton and Sano the last couple years I don't feel either one of them will ever be what we all hoped. Hopefully they can be functional but neither will likely ever be the generational players we had hoped for several years back. In fact at this point its possible at least one of them isn't much of a factor at all. If Sano doesn't start to take his profession seriously he might eat himself right out of the league. I am all for getting a good catcher but to me Lewis is not available.
  5. Sad to say but that's the way it appears to me. Houston, Yanks and Red Sox are all significantly better than we are and that's not going to change anytime soon. If compete means in the division they have a chance. If compete means to win the World Series it ain't happening in the next 2-3 years.
  6. I agree it will take2-3 really good prospects to get Realmuto but no way should this team consider doing it. We have a good young group that will not be competitive for a couple years. By the time we would get competitive he would be looking to leave. Castro is back next year and while his offense if not good he is a decent defensive catcher.
  7. Am I to assume DeLeon and Alvarez are the first two players?
  8. With the signing of Park it appears to be virtually all of our power is from the right side. While that plays well at Target Field I'm a bit concerned having no left handed power will set us up to be eaten up by right handed power relievers late in ball games. Seems to me opposing managers will be able to bring in the power right handers and just mow through Dozier, Plouffe, Sano and Park. We only have Rosario and Mauer to consider as lefties and neither of them are going to scare any opposing managers. What do you think? How does Molly handle the order with all this right handle power?
  9. I wasn't promoting Strasburg. In fact I agree with you that the price would be too steep. I was just using that reference to make my point that Washington seems to be willing to make some moves. Would love to add Storen.
  10. I have read many different spins on possible trades with the Padres but I wonder if the Twins and Nationals could match up. Washington is open to trading Storen and possibly Ramos if they sign Wieters. I have also read that Strasburg could also be in play. Wondering what sort of combinations could work for a trade to be put together with Washington. They will possibly lose Desmond, Zimmerman and Span to free agency so they will have holes to fill.
  11. That's exactly where my original thought was generated from. I should have been more clear. That would allow double EE to move to second. Doziers second half struggles concern me.
  12. I am curious if he might be a fit for the Twins? He had a good last half of the year after a terrible start to 2015. He has been in the upper tier of shortstops for several years. While I have no problem with Escobar at short I do believe Desmond would be a large upgrade and allow Escobar to be our super utility guy.
  13. You make a good point on the Morales comparison. We need someone to provide some protection to Sano (preferably left handed) and I sure dont trust Arcia to be that guy. If not Justin then somebody like him that will protect Sano is needed.
  14. Exactly what I was thinking. I'm not against bringing back the big Canadian as most people are. Particularily if they trade Trevor.
