  1. The Twins need to beat the Indians at least once this year, and today seems like a good day to do that.
  2. Another couple of runs in the top of the 9th would be nice. The top of the order is hitting today.
  3. Beverly Hills - swimmin pools, movie stars and not enough Twins games. This blackout sucks.
  4. You are in Seattle?
  5. Glad to see you NTF. The game is not in my cable package today so I am "watching" on cbssportsline.com. It's not easy being a Twins fan in California. Did Mauer hit it far?
  6. Where is everyone? Too depressed after yesterday's game?
  7. Nature abhors a vacuum, so I am creating this thread for today's game. I wish that I could figure out how to edit the title because I forgot to add the date, which is 6/2/12
  8. Denard Span CF Ben Revere RF Joe Mauer C Josh Willimgham LF Justin Morneau 1B Ryan Doumit DH Dozier SS Carrol 2B Plouffe - 3B Sp- P.J. (the "Wall") Walters
  9. Swarzak? T.C Bear? Someone's grandmother?
  10. That scorekeeper may need a bodyguard if that decision is not changed.
  11. The only explanation that I can think of is that Slama slept with someone's daughter or something like that.
  12. Johan Santana has a no hitter going after 7 innings. It was sure nice having an ace, while it lasted.
  13. [quote name=NorthwestTwinsFan;21362 It probably doesn't make a difference if the score if 7-0 or 12-0' date=' the Twins can't score off of Derek Lowe anyway. .[/quote] Doumit has both of the Twins hits today and has carried the burden of catching as well. Everyone else in the lineup should be yelled at after the game is over and given a 10 p.m. curfew. The failure to get hits when the pitching is bad seems inexcusable. It's almost like the hitters have given up and just want the game to be over.
  14. Maybe he will go on the DL after this game. If not, then I agree with Chief that he should have eaten at least one more inning.
  15. It would probably take at least two team plane crashes (a MLB club and its AAA affiliate) for anyone to want to trade for Pavano at this point. Even then, the Twins would be lucky to get a bucket of (old) balls. Thank God his contract will expire at the end of this season.
  16. The only good thing about the terrible pitching is that it distracts us from the lack of offense. Even Verlander would have trouble winning for a team that cannot score runs.
  17. I think that it's important that he play almost every day to hone his skills and focus. Unless the Twins can fit him into the lineup as a regular starter, I would like to see him stay in Rochester until September. I would hate to see him riding the bench at the MLB level when he could be getting experience at Rochester. The Twins are paying Morneau a lot to play first base and Gardenhire likes resting Mauer by playing him at DH, so there does not seem to be much room for Parmelee. It also might make sense to trade Paemelee to a team who really wants a promising 1B prospect and who will offer a equivalent starting pitching prospect in return.
  18. I had to google poutine. Is there such a thing as "good" poutine?
  19. This is an interesting report and the order is logical. What stands out for me is that the best pitchers in the system do not have great strikeout rates. I wonder how much of this is due to drafting and how much is due to coaching and a pitch to contact mentality. I would love an explanation as to why the Twins don't have at least a couple of top prospects who get lots of strikeouts.
  20. Depending on how he plays as the trade deadline approaches, I would think that the Twins could hold out for a lot. Willingham seems a little streaky, and it will be good if he can stay hot. Willingham is 33 years old, and he may be 36 or 37 by the time that the Twins are ready to contend again. So he seems expendable. On the other hand, if this looks like a salary dump, fans should be resentful. I would love to see a trade where the Twins deal with a smaller cap team who will give up excellent prospects if the Twins agree to eat some of Willingham's salary. The Twins could show good faith to the fans by spending some money if an opportunity arises to get one or more excellent prospects as part of a trade with a smaller cap team.
  21. Nice work on this report. I am glad to see the Red Wings getting 18 hits.
  22. I hope that you are correct. They seem to have made a good connection today.
  23. Letting him start against such a poor batting team was a good idea. Maybe this will help him get back on track.
  24. The walk-off is something that was badly needed. And if this triggers Willingham getting hot again, that could mean more wins. If Mauer, Willingham, Mauer and Doumit could all get hot at the same time, the Twins could score a lot of runs.
