  1. Am I missing something? This guy struck out one-third of his visits to the plate, most of them just standing there watching the ball fly by. I haven't read every word here, but don't see any concern about that. Easy to fix. Can't hit lefties or righties if you don't swing. Swing. Anyway, maybe I'm thinking about the wrong guy.
  2. I must be missing something. How does trading vazquez $10m salary for Cease's $13.5m solve any twins budget cap problems? and still paying some of vazquez salary? no way twins should trade good young pitching for a 1-year pitcher that would represent only a marginal upgrade...maybe.
  3. I don't think it's his swing, I think it's his smile...just a joyful kid having fun. He epitomizes a spiritless Twins attitude that starts at the top with the manager. It's just kind of like, "oh well, we'll do better tomorrow." Anyone watching the Twins-Cleveland series could see it. The Guardin intensity was written on their faces and obvious in their actions. The Twins, "oh well, maybe tomorrow." And Royce runs his own show...doesn't want to play second base, so Rocco apparently says OK. And Miranda sits the bench. He and Royce are in the same kind of slump but Jose has been more consistent over the year (as evidenced by batting average). And I think he's the better third baseman. Very disappointed that a team with this talent tanks...leadership sucks.
  4. Yes, where the heck is he? Strange too to rate his so high, and write an article about him, without having had a word about him, at least that I've seen, for at least a couple months. The Twins own injury report says nothing except extremely dated stuff about thumb. Really weird.
  5. whatever happened to Emmanuel Rodriquez? The Twins injury update has not been updated since June 7. And I can't find his name in any of the minor league box scores. Is he still injured?
  6. Why not have Lewis play second base, at least against lefthanded pitchers. That would give the Twins a pretty powerful lineup...Lewis, Miranda, Buxton, etc. Lewis was a shortstop originally, should be able to shift to second easily despite being on the opposite side of the field. Miranda seems to be quite adequate fielder at third (should learn how to better tag runners approaching third base). Just a thought. I know is supposed to be the forever third baseman for the Twins, but... that can wait.
  7. I totally agree with commenters here on this topic. Why not try Funderburk? Lots of places he could take on the 40-man. And why take out Ober last night? Why is he being babied year after, powers that be worried he'll pitch too many good innings (sarcasm). He says he can.
  8. I think there's got to be a fourth reason... they are going to finally fire the manager. Love Rocco, seems like a real nice guy. But shows no creativity, no fire, no ability to adjust. His tried and true methods of managing pitchers and other players are not working. What's up with best centerfielder in all of baseball. What are the Twins saing him for? His true value was patroling centerfield, not batting and especially not acting like Babe Ruth. His singles, doubles, triples boosted the whole team. Why is it a secret what his injuries are. The source of his big bucks, the fans, deserve to know why he's sitting on the bench every game. It is likely very justified, so why secretive.
  9. When was the last time Corre had an eye exam. Seriously! He doesn't seem to see pitches well.
  10. no offense meant... I'm old fogy, a journalist by trade... I have been frustrated by writing these days... seems like a person has to read 10 paragraphs of a reporter trying to be clever before they get to the point. I appreciate your coverage. Have been a Twins fan since hey moved to Minnesota, and I was a 6-year-old tee-baller.
  11. hope so... bow at the end is not the purpose of sports. win, baby.
  12. why in hell are the final scores at the bottom of each post? I'm betting the first thing that people reading this want to know is "who won?"
