  1. I'm really not that concerned with the bullpen at this point. A couple of thoughts: 1. It's been proven that an excellent bullpen can be constructed from your existing players in the minors or starters that fail at starting. Take a look at all of the excellent (top tier) relief guys in MLB. Most were starters and one point in their careers and eventually moved to the bullpen. In addition, why spend huge dollars on these types? If you want to fix this bullpen start pulling some of the guys up from AAA and AA. Realistically what is the risk? 2. The 0-4 start in my opinion is based more on the terrible at bats than the bullpen. Bruno needs to get these guys to make more contact (less strikeouts) and lay-off the high fastball junk.
  2. A few nights ago I watched Sano run in at full speed to catch a short blooper in right field. When he dove for the ball I literally held my breath. Watching a 275 pound guy roll and fall like that is not very comforting. If anyone watched that and doesn't think he will break a wrist, fracture a rib or tear an ACL are only in denial. I love this guy but right field is not for him...
  3. My sister works for the Marlins and invited me to Kirby Puckett's HOF induction. That's not the name I'm choosing though. She introduced me to Pete Rose and we ended up having breakfast together. Pete Rose - Not the brightest bulb...
  4. I agree with most of the postings here that recommend bringing up some power bats. The reality and timeliness of this thread showed itself yesterday. Bottom of the ninth down 4-2 and we bring in Suzuki to pinch hit. Our lack of depth was on display big time in that situation. It's nice to have a PH come up there that can even the game with one swing of the bat. Not saying Suzuki can't do that but the probability he can is much lower than a Vargas, Arcia, Sano, etc., etc.
  5. I've watched most of the games this year and it looks like the team chemistry is great. It reminds me of the 87 team in some ways. Everyone is having fun and playing loose. Look at some of the better teams that made the playoffs the last 10 years. Most of those clubs looked like they were having fun and getting along. I know my day job is a lot more fun and productive when I'm working along someone I like and respect. This has been exciting to watch!! No matter what happens this is going to be a great summer of baseball. The talent we have below our club now is scary good. Get ready for the fun!
  6. First time poster here but life long Twins fan! I thought it was a brilliant move. My sons were asking the same question in the 9th/10th "why not bring in Perk"? The way both teams were hitting it seemed like moving Perk in right away would be a waste. When you have one of the best offensive teams in the AL (I can't believe I'm actually writing that) wait until you score a run or two. I know, if the Bucs score the game is over but it was a calculated gamble and a good one when you have the offense the Twins do. Go Twins!
