  1. I agree, at least they are trying to get power arms.
  2. jeez, i shouldnt be shocked. terrible pick.
  3. Good pick! Power pitcher and an athlete. Keep it going.
  4. The Twins need strikeout pitchers. No control guys or pitch to contact guys.
  5. MLB.com just said they think he slides to sandwich round.
  6. 4 And a bullet has been dodged. Just what the Twins do not need, a light hitting infielder.
  7. Strasburg, Gonzales and if he pans out Giolito. Three dominant arms.
  8. What about Storen? Zimmerman? they have been picking well for the last 6 years or so.
  9. Apparently the Nats are not scared of the elbow. They drafted another kid who throws 100 plus. You can clearly see the plan taking shape. I wish the Twins could say the same.
  10. A toolsy outfielder that's a long ways from contributing? I think it's a lock that we take him. I also think it's a lock that we hear from the Twins that this is a deep draft even though every expert and fan alike thinks this draft is weak.
  11. I hope the Twins pass on this guy. Nowhere on this resume does it scream I can shut someone down.
  12. He would be an excellent choice as a second rounder, however I do not think he will last that long. Definite reach at 2.
  13. I agree, the Twins need pitching help that will rise quickly through the minors. High school players need time to develop and while there are a lot of great prospects out there the Twins need to think about the very near future. Unless of course there is a big time arm out there that throughs in the upper 90's and has a minimum of three out pitches. The Twins (sad to say) would pass on that guy because he does not pitch to contact.
  14. And who cares if he is liked in the clubhouse? Chemistry is overrated.
  15. While I think the primary reason for O-Dogg's departure was financial, the numbers listed above are pretty much what we got right now. I think if it let us save a few million a year than it was a good move getting rid of him. I think I saw something that Bartlett is available. Now that would be a nice return player for us.
  16. Another prime example of how the organization needs to change their philosophy of what type of players we develop. Although, judging by the numbers we have developed Slama pretty good.
  17. The Twins need to find out if Morneau can still play and at least perrform half as well as his contract is paying him. Mauer is vastly overpaid now, but when the front office signed him he was doing what no other catcher has ever done so lets keep that under consideration. Does he need to permanently move to another postion? Yes. The pitching is absolutely horrendous and needs to be addressed both in free agency and in the draft. A complete change of philosophy is needed when it comes to what type of pitchers we go after. Pitching to contact gets you exactly what the Twins are doing right now. We need strikeout pitchers. The Twins are in need of a major shake up, coaching? maybe but definetly in the way we evaluate players.
  18. I think he can avoid the slumps if he gets some form of protection from Morneau and Mauer. At least I hope.
  19. Take a look at our best players of any playoff team since 2001 and what marquee player did better?
  20. I think there is a lot of guys on the roster that seem afraid to me in the playoffs. This just confirms it.
  21. I think if the only thing we ask a starting position to do is not make a lot of money and make routine plays and hit a little than we are dooming ourselves to a first round exit- at best. In order to be excellent you need to demand excellence (Thank you Al Davis). I do not like any options we have at second base or short stop but we have to go with what we got than lets at least go with something better than a guy we demote every year.
  22. I think having him play a year (or most of it) in AAA and proving the numbers from 2011 were not a fluke is probably best.
  23. I predict he hits close to 25 home runs this year and about 80 rbi's.
  24. It's nice to see some power being displayed.
