  1. Jake Arrieta was just unhittable!!!! I wonder if that will happen vs Rays, Yanks, Red Sox, or Angels?? The guy is #3 pitcher at best and as usual the Twins came in and were scared vs AL East team. Talk to me in 6 weeks when Arrieta is taken out of the rotation. How many times have we seen throughout the years the offense make a mediocre nobody look terrific.
  2. What were the cops supposed to do come into the house with an autograph pad? They received a burglary alarm call from dispatch and responded it to it like it was a crime in progress. Here is a tip learn how to turn you alarm off when you enter your house or have the alarm company contact you before sending police.
  3. I'm sure glad the Pohlad family decided to cut payroll by $15 million and not upgrade the pitching staff. More pitch to contact guys like Hendriks, Wimmers, and Salcedo. Let's not forget the great Kyle Gibson who will never make to the big show after TJ surgery. This organization is a mess and the Twins will have to score 15 runs a game to win.
  4. @_2244 1. Paul Molitor 2. Terry Francona 3. Joe Madden 4. Jim Leyland 5. Mike Scosica 6. Clint Hurdle 7. Ozzie Gullen 8. Jake Mauer 9. You 10. Seth Stohs 11. John Bonnes 12. Nick Nelson 13. Parker Hageman 14. Kirsten Brown The list is like the energizer bunny and keeps going and going and going.
  5. Stop babying your players! Stop being intimidated by teams in the AL East and West! Career record vs Yankees is 20-65! He has set the organization back 10 years. Completely responsible for last years debacle. He has had the most talented players in Twins history and can't even win ONE playoff game Take your pick.
  6. It really is something that Alex Burnett is on the roster even if it's to start the season. What has he done in 2 years to warrant another promotion. "Expect More, Pay Less."
  7. Jeff Gray is worse than Burnett...I'm not being negative here, just being honest...What do they see in Jeff Gray...A lifetime 4.5 ERA...He is awefui. Please someone indulge me with why he is here..
  8. What about Jeff Gray and Alex Burnett in the bullpen...Does anybody trust these guys pitching with the game on the line..Well it is April Fools Day..
  9. Seth, I really like the offense with Parmelee starting at 1B, Morneau as the full time DH, and Plouffe and Doumit sharing time in right field. I feel bad for Revere who deserves to play everyday. My guess is Span or Revere will be traded in July when Joe Benson is ready. I also feel just terrible for Kyle Waldrop who got injured and was put on the 15 day DL. I'm scared to death of the starting rotation and bullpen. Who gets the final bullpen spot now Jeff Gray?
  10. Ryan Doumit is heating up at the right time. The question is will there be enough at bats for him.
  11. The Twins announced today catcher Drew Butera and infielder Michael Hollimon were optioned to Rochester leaving only 31 active players left in camp. Opening day in Baltimore is only six days away and more roster decisions will be made soon. It appears reliever Alex Burnett could find himself on the roster again because of injuries. Perhaps no other player in recent memory has job security like that of Burnett. Critics keep telling us he is young (24), has great stuff, but just needs to work on some things. There is no question Burnett has the talent to be a big league reliever. However, for some reason it does not translate into results on the field. Here is a quick look at the statistics compiled by Burnett; 2010. A 2-2 record with a 5.29 ERA in 47.2 IP. Encouraging 7.0 K/9 ratio. 2011. A 2-5 record with a 5.51 ERA in 50.2 IP. Dissapointing 5.9 K/9 ratio. 2012 (Spring Training). A 0-0 record with a 7.00 ERA in 9 IP. If the Twins decide not to send Burnett down to Rochester it would be a miscarriage of justice to his development. He needs to locate his pitches better and concentrate on getting out of jams before the inning implodes. One year in Rochester is all Burnett really needs to make the necessary in game adjustments to be successful. It appears to me Burnett will make the roster and not get that chance. I'm quite certain most Americans wish they had the great job security of Alex Burnett.

  13. Seth, Can you please explain WHY Alex Burnett is going to make the roster???? WHYYYYYYYY the guy has been terrible for 2 plus years and has had a terrible camp.
  14. Gernzy, Please explain to me why Burnett is still in spring training?
  15. Alex Burnett continues to get killed, this time by the Pirates C roster. But hey let's all remember he has great stuff.
  16. Like Clubber Lang said my prediction is "Pain." This is how I see the Twins season developing. Without question it will be painfull with this rotation and bullpen.
  17. Cap'n Piranah, I'm getting sick of all these people who just accept everything the Twins do and think it's the greatest thing since life's bread. Think for yourself. Oh and by the way what would happen if this was NY, LA. Boston, or Phily? Maybe you should befriend Dick Bremer because you think alike, you talk alike, ect, ect, ect.......
  18. I would agree Matt Maloney and Jeff Gray are having a good spring in 2012. Dusty Hughes had a great spring last year and remember what happened to him. The numbers mean nothing and around the end of April fans will be scratching their heads wondering why these two occupy 40-man roster spots. The reason why is they fit the Twins Way "Expect More, Pay Less."
  19. Jeff Gray and Matt Maloney are a perfect example of the Twins philosphy. "Expect More, Pay Less."
  20. Whydidnt, I would just be happy with signing Michael Wuertz but apparently he is worth too much. Glad we spent $850.000 on a injury prone reliever who had not pitched in two years. The concept this year should be more open and transparent but instead it's all about HOPE. Hope does you no good when the talent is not there.
  21. Birdwatcher, Do you work for the Twins?? Before you criticize my thoughts think about this. Would cutting payroll after losing 99 games be acceptable in NY, Boston, Phily, LA, or even Detroit. The answer is no way in million years. The reason why because fans and sports writers would go after the front office. I just don't understand why fans are not more outraged by a team that did absolutly nothing to improve itself. I guess we should just be happy because the Twins are still in Minnesota. Sorry that is not good enough for me. Welcome to the 90's all over again and the fans are buying it hook, line, and sinker..
  22. Shanewahl, Who else deserves a shot. How about the following; 1. Dan Wheeler 2. Todd Coffey 3. Michael Wuertz (Why not take a chance on him. Way better than Joel Zumaya and not even close to the injury history). 4. Octavio Doltel 5. Latroy Hawkins. The list is like the energizer bunny and keeps going, and going, and going.....The difference is these guys all cost money that the Pohlads refuse to spend.
  23. Please somebody quote me on this "Matt Maloney and Jeff Gray will get lit up like a Christmas tree as soon as the regular season starts." The numbers they have put up in spring training mean absolutely NOTHING!!!! Before annointing these guys as the next great things ask yourself this question, Do you really trust either one of them pitching with the game on the line. Here is a scenario for you all. A 1-1 game in the 7th inning at Yankee Stadium with Cano/Texiera/Rodriguez coming to the plate. Does anybody really believe Maloney or Gray could get out of the inning without giving up the long ball. This season has disaster written all over it. Thanks again to the Pohlad family for cutting $15 million from payroll and going with the cheapest possible option.
