  1. Reggie Williams hasn't been in the organization for at least a couple of years. Hein Robb will be one of the guys that comes up in the the next month or two. Rory Rhodes, Christian Powell and Angel Mata are some others... along with Bard (potentially) and Jose Berrios.
  2. I would say that number is higher than ordinary. Especially in Rochester... but having extra arms - they're not all actually injured - is never a bad thing.
  3. I can't copy from my phone. A new addition to roster was INF Eric Farris. I'll have all the rosters updated by tomorrow night on the Roster and Payroll page.
  4. Check the Roster & Payroll page. I think you'll find it to be a pretty accurate indicator. No promises... a few things still to be ironed out.
  5. Steven Liddle was released (confirmed), I believe Kelvin Mention faced the same fate (unconfirmed).
  6. Hung-Yi Chen, Jason Lane, Scott Elarton and Ricardo Arevalo were the latest releases that I have heard of...
  7. The Red Wings announced their Opening Day rosters... Some notes: The projected roster posted a few days ago was accurate with two exceptions - Eric Fryer is, in fact, on the roster as a 3rd cater. Alex Burnett, no longer in the organization, has been replaced by Andrew Albers. The Red Wings will have nearly an entire pitching staff (10 guys) on their D.L. Deibinson Romero is on the Red Wings roster. He still hasn't obtained his Visa to leave his home country. A handful of players - Bigley, Lehmann, Hanson - have been moved to New Britain's roster where they are expected to start the year. Stay tuned for more updates.
  8. From everything I've heard, he's taken well to the new position. His cannon will come in handy in the run game, too.
  9. Burnett was optioned to Triple-A by Toronto. On their 40-man, but not on their 25-man. Same as his situation here. He's also using his final option this year and will more than likely be arbitration-eligible after this season.
  10. Nice write-up. As a fellow educator, there is no secret when I type "Personal Day- Twins Opener" into my time-off screen. I get two... and the second is saved just in case there is a rain out.
  11. The Blue Jays already optioned him to AAA.
  12. Berrios is still getting stretched out after not pitching much during the WBC. Mix that with the cold and it makes sense to give him more time in EST. Once he makes it to Cedar Rapids, I'd be very surprised if he went back to Fort Myers until instructs in the fall. Bard is a little different, being that he's a college guy and older. It might make sense for him - who has been injured for the good part of a year - to skip Cedar Rapids and stay in Fort Myers where homebase is. On the other side of that coin, the Cedar Rapids facilities are much more advanced that Beloit's, so I wouldn't be shocked to see the Twins let guys recover/rehab a little more in Cedar Rapids.
  13. The Twins placed Burnett on outright waivers and the Blue Jays claimed him, officially.
  14. A spot for Wilikn Ramirez to have his 'contract purchased'.
  15. Sounds like a straight waiver-claim, no return.
  16. He followed that tweet up by saying he's a Blue Jay. Stay tuned...
  17. Burnett just tweeted a thanks to the organization; not something typical for someone simply being optioned.
  18. The page has been updated. (And will continue daily or more until all minor league rosters are set.) Some changes over the last couple of days: *The top "PAYROLL" section is no longer divided by position as it was during camp. It is now listed by salary. As players are added/subtracted, the individual and overall payroll will be adjusted. All adjustments will be explained below where it says "Service Time notes with salary adjustments". *The Rochester roster is nearly set according to Jim Mandelaro. I've adjusted accordingly, but only list 24 names. I would anticipate Eric Fryer being the 3rd catcher with Lehmann, Hanson and Bigley starting the year in AA. Davies and Augenstein also are still listed on the AAA roster, though not on Mandelero's. I would guess, considering their is still a move that needs to be made with the 40-man, that Rochester's bullpen is still in flux (as well as New Britain's catching situation, depending on who is placed on waivers). *There have been a lot of names moved over the last couple of days as well, that will continue; so keep checking back.
  19. Yeah, I think I read it took 19 months for him to appear in a game after his first surgery. I'm not a doctor, but I was talking to someone who knew a thing or do about shoulder surgeries. The comment he made was the first surgery is like trying to sew paper together. Not easy, but possible. The second surgery is like trying to sew tissue paper together. Not impossible, but near impossible to be perfect. And that was to repair an arm for normal use - brushing teeth, eating, etc - not to be a pitcher. (Granted I'm not sure if that goes for this specific injury.)
  20. I'm just hoping when the Twins go bargain shopping for reclamation projects in December, they give him a call. Zero expectations, obviously, but why not try and convince him to continue/end his career here?
  21. Yeah. I'd believe it. I didn't hear that particular interview, though I did see two different people cite Benson's injury. I have also heard other instances where he was ticked off and made threats/demands.
  22. From a variety of sources... -The Twins have released Ps Scott Elarton, Jason Lane and Hung-Yi Chen. There will be more, but those have happened in the last couple days. -The RockCats will start Logan Darnell in their opener and have some combination of Andrew Albers, Pat Dean and BJ Hermsen in their rotation. Trevor May and Alex Meyer also appear headed to New Britain as well. -The Red Wings will start PJ Walters in their opener and have a rotation of Kyle Gibson, Pedro Hernandez, Virgil Vasquez and Shairon Martis joining him. -Joe Benson is expected to head to Rochester but is still having some issues with the hamate bone that he broke last year and may not be ready for the opener next Thursday. -It's not minor-league news, but Joe Mauer is batting 2nd tonight against the Red Sox on FSN. And he's not playing 2B.
  23. I agree, Windle would be a welcome addition to the organization if he's around in the 2nd round. But it's true, he's not real projectable. He relies on his command and doesn't miss a lot of bats. Very Scott Diamond-ish, if you will. A great guy to have on the staff, but not someone a contending team will pitch as their #1... not that there's anything wrong with that!
