    Looked a bit overmatched in his second AB. He was late on a FB that he fouled off, and was then called out on strikes on a 99.1 MPH FB.

    ATL just got Baldwin back from injury and should get Murphy back sometime between the ASG and the trade deadline. MLBTR posts indicate that PHI is looking for back-end rotation and OF help, not catching. Twins may be able to help with one or the other depending on their trade deadline situation. The team does not HAVE to trade Jeffers, but if NYY are publicly stating they want him, maybe the Twins can can get a big return despite him being just a rental (the NYY have 4-5 Top 100 prospects depending on which ranking service you look at) and they always seem ready to "go big" when it comes to winning the WS.

    Why is it that other teams can throw nobodies against the Twins and look like Cy Young winners? Maybe the Twins turn to get lucky.....

    To recall any of them would mean sending down one or both of Martin and Fedko, though Gray could be sent down also. None of the three are hitting in June, and, according to Fan Graphs, all three have options remaining. It would also mean putting Clemens back into his bench/utility role, which would probably help him as it looks like his hot streak is over; .196/.246/.348 (.593 OPS) over his last 11 games.

    Twins beat him when he was with Toronto - 5.1 IP, 7R/7ER, 3/5 K/BB. Lee and Larnach took him deep.

    Correct, he has injured his right (throwing) shoulder twice this season. I don't check everyday so I don't know when his max velocity throw was, but he has a max velocity throw of 95.9 this season....

    It's also worth noting that Abel has been unlucky in his small sample this season. Opposing hitters own a .386 batting average on balls in play against him, an extremely high number that almost certainly isn't sustainable over the long run. As that figure begins to normalize, some of the results should start moving in his favor as well. Such is life with this years team defense...
