    After a tough playoff series I find myself gravitating towards lighter subjects. Admittedly I'm a uniform nut and have enjoyed what the Twins have been doing in recent years. Kasota Gold is awesome! One area for improvement has to be the Stance socks. Look around the league and you see how well teams have done to incorporate alternate logos or the city into their socks. The New York skyline for the Mets is a great example. The Twins/Stance have so many opportunities to capitalize on Minnesota's features. I'd love to see a design with the Mississippi River or lakes. How about using Minnie and Paul? What ideas do you have?

    What is the return in a trading Eddie scenario? Do we get a 3 or 4 spot in the rotation? If yes, I would be temped because we have OF prospects near ready and flexible position players already on the roster for corner OF depth.

    I like Swarzak in the rotation. His "bulldog" attitude (used way to often) is what this rotation lacks. Then send Hendriks down to create more depth. If Swarzak goes back to the pen, and Liam to the rotation, who do you call upon when an injury occurs? Scott Diamond? Waldrop if he is health and they decide to stretch him out?

    There is a list on Vita.mn that is very similar to yours. I think Doumit has used "Mother" for years with the Pirates and I heard it the other night as well.

    With skates on and one more rotation Delmon might have landed that triple axle, along with the silver medal.

    For $9.25M you could get a more consistent non-injury prone pitcher. Thanks for 2009 Scott Baker.

    Possibly setting him up for the rotation if Baker or Marquis are not ready to go? Although they should have been stretching him out before now.

    I believe this move allows Zumaya to rehab when and where he wants. This way he doesn't need to consult with Twins doctors throughout the rehab. Zumaya may opt to not attempt to return to MLB. I know he stated he would like to, but perhaps the guy wants an arm that can lift a gallon of milk in 10 years or play catch with his kids. Twins took a shot, let's move on. Go luck Joel.

    Great blog idea. I would have traded one of my favorite players, Span. I beleive a deal was in the works last year that sent Span to the Nationals, for a releiver, (Storren or Clippard) and a position player (Bernadina or a second baseman). I would take Clippard over Storren, this would create more stability in the bullpen and hopefully lead to NOT overpaying for Capps. With extra money, perhaps Cuddyer or Kubel stays in Minnesota. Perhaps Ryan would go after a starting pitcher. I know you said one move, but this is one move that would lead to more cash for this past offseason.

    I would like to make 2 points. 1st Gardy is not a terrible manager. I beleive he manages with his heart and not his head. This may lead to some poor decisions, but in the 10 years he has managed, 7 times Gardy has been top 3 for Manager of the Year. Until recently, most of that was accomplished with a lower payroll. 2nd, I agree with Fanatic Jack that Revere should be in center. Willingham should be in left and Span in right. Willy said he would adjust to Right field, why would the Twins have a guy adjust at 33 years old. They brought him in to mash the ball and drive in runs. As we have witnessed in the past, not all players adjust well to position changes and that can lead to poor performance at the plate as well. In defense of Delmon Young, he would have sucked at all position.

    Great job Seth! I agree with this 100%. Twins are one of those teams that consistently produce quality bullpen arms. Each year someone steps up or "overachieves" and contributes to an already established bullpen. Last year we didn't have that back bone to go along with Perkins. Gone were Crain and Guerrier. Nathan was hurt, along with everyone else. Hopefully this year 1 or 2 arms will step up and pair that with Perkins, Capps and even Duensing who is great against lefties. We have plenty of arms to choose from in camp, no reason to trade a prospect just as the farm system is heading in the right direction.

    Isn't this injury one of the reasons the Twins have so many pitchers in camp. Bringing in multiple guys will help create competition and allow different backup options in case of injuries. We have no idea what we would have got from Zumaya this year, same as the rest of the pitchers in camp. I think many fans feel they need to fill a void now that Zumaya went down. This is a guy who has not pitched in 2 years, so why were are expectations so high on him and not Burton, Gray and any of the other pitchers brought in. Ryan doesn't need to make a move because money is now freed up and trading for a reliever will only create a hole somewhere else on a team that is not expected to compete. Sit tight and take a long look at what we have in camp.

    I wish Swarzak would get a fair shot. Solely based on last years performance he was essentially a Carl Pavano with 1/2 the innings, fewer hits and more strikeouts per 9 innings. Plus a better SO/BB ratio as well. Anthony is cheaper and younger than many other options for the rotation, give him a shot at a full season.

    I agree with Seth, Manny is past being a productive player. With his 50 game supension still needing to be served, it will be a tough sell to trade him before the deadline.
