  1. While holding a beer in the other hand!!
  2. The proverbial cup of coffee. Caribou, no doubt.
  3. I'm too lazy to look it up, but IIRC Bert also suffered 50-some 1-0 losses over his career.
  4. For some historical perspective, Bert Blyleven had sixty (60). Sixty shutouts.
  5. Nap time. Bring it home, ladies and germs.
  6. As it happens, "out there" is 7th Crow Wing Lake, near Nevis, for the summer. Got 3 bags of walleye filets in the freezer already.
  7. Yeah...Julien and Kirilloff out...but there's Kepler.
  8. Damn night games. I don't normally stay up that late.
  9. Damn day games. I don't normally get out of bed this early.
  10. It's even worse than the other night when he pinch hit Solano for Kirilloff in like the 6th. I wagered at the time you'd see Solano against a RHer next AB. I would have won the wager. I'm a huge believer in platoon advantage. But gaining the platoon advantage for 1 AB early generally makes no sense. You're just likely giving ut up later. Use your platoon pinch hitter when it matters. And when it's not likely to be neutralized (or worse) later
  11. I believe Farmer had actually entered the game in the top of the 8th. The walk off hit was his second PA of the game.
  12. There is no reason Ober should be on any type innings limit...Other than an unproven theory with little or no supporting factual evidence. Let the man pitch. He might get hurt. Pitchers get hurt all the time. If he gets hurt, he misses time, which is exactly what happens if he misses time because he was held out. He also might be just fine, and NOT miss time. A six man rotation is a poor idea, for all the logical reasons listed above.
  13. No, I think they're just reconfiguring to maximize revenue and/or better utilize space. Center field, for example, was changed from bleacher seats to the two level open areas with no seats but food options, tables and standing areas. The right field area is now seating behind a rail.
  14. I just do not trust Moran. No matter the result here Edit: but I can live with the result
  15. Some snappy "damn Skippy I do!" response?
