  1. Foul. Close, but not that close. Ball never disappeared.
  2. Thorpe doing a very nice job of limiting hard contact thus far, and when he did give up hard contact he knocked it down with his glove. Pitch count is low. Great news. Twins need to flex their muscles and turn this one into a laugher
  3. Twins can not let this pitcher dominate them. Impressive KBO resume, but thats that. That's the equivalent of dominating AA as a 30+ year old, which is what this guy is. Gotta put up better ABs than we saw in the first.
  4. This is awesome. Awesome community that deserves a bigger audience, and this will help! Go Twins
  5. Good first from Thorpe. We need him to give at least 6 innings.
  6. Bad loss. Said it in the game thread, probably 3rd worst of the year behind the shoemaker Mariners game and the game in Oakland where we scored 12 runs. The bullpen is so, so bad. It’s equally on the front office and Rocco. The options are poor, and the deployment of some of the arms (Waddell in the 10th) are inexcusable. Lineup was pretty bad tonight as well, but Gibson had his stuff today.
  7. Of course they aren't going to make Rogers the third best option. That isn't the point. But they do allow you to no longer call on Brandon Waddell in the 10th inning. Greene isn't a big strikeout guy, which I'm not a huge fan of (see Alex Colome), but he's a better option than some of the front end bullpen guys we've seen so far. At this point, you have to try something different because it's clear the group in place is not a sufficient bullpen for a want-to-be legit baseball team.
  8. We have still not won a non-9 inning ball game. This is probably the 2nd or 3rd worse loss of the year behind the Mariners game and Oakland game where we scored 12 runs. Inexcusable decisions in tonight ball game. I'm not going to slander Waddell for not getting the job done, because I don't thing anyone expected him to. It's on the front office partially for him being an option there, and on Rocco for turning to him when you have Alcala and even Colome rested. Bad, bad loss. Let's wipe this one away with a blowout tomorrow.
  9. uh, if that is what he was doing, which I highly doubt, it's a fireable offense. You don't "throw" a game to show up the front office when you're 5 games below .500 a month into the season.
  10. If I'm not mistaken, Oliver Perez was waived and not claimed. Twins need to sign him and Shane Greene right after this game.
  11. Geez, wonder what would've happened if we started the 10th with Alcala
  12. Rocco deserves all the boos right there. Numbers or not, I'll be damned for bringing in a guy who was on waivers twice over the past few months. No manager in there right mind is pitching them in a tie game in the 10th inning. If it was the 15th inning, fine. Quiet possibly the most baffling decision I've seen from him
  13. How in the world do you keep in Waddell to face a righty? What in the world...this is inexcusable
  14. I think we are now seeing why the worst team in the league gave away Waddell for nothing in return.
  15. Geez, I wonder who could've forseen Waddell giving up a homer in this situation.
  16. You can blame both. The bullpen is bad (FO fault) but some decisions have been bad (Roccos fault)
  17. Turning to Brandon Waddell in the 10th inning really shows the sad state of the bullpen right now
  18. Man, Kepler just does not look like himself. I can't remember him squaring anything up this year. Hard to know what the lineup should look like without Arraez, and there isn't a clear leadoff option, but I'm not sure he's the answer
  19. Nice adjustment by Rogers after last night. No sense in throwing Gallo a fastball if he's going to swing at 4/5 sliders away. (That check swing was a swing)
  20. I don't disagree at all. He was frustrating when watching him pitch 30 times a year, but only showed up like this 10 times a year. He's been good this year besides his first start. I wouldn't be opposed to kicking the tires of Shoemaker has another 3 or 4 bad starts. Seems like he's really good in the clubhouse from what people say
  21. Gibby has been really impressive tonight. This isn't the Twins 'A' lineup, but still a good one. A complaint when he pitched for the Twins was that he was too "nibbly" but we haven't seen a ton of that tonight. Instead of being off the plate, he's been right at the edge of it, and the slider looks better than I ever remember. He'll be a nice piece for the Rangers at the deadline.
  22. Good outing from Happ. Clearly didn't have his best stuff, but he gave 5.1 innings and limited the hard contact, and left with the Twins in position to pick up a win. Exactly what you want from the back end of your rotation
