  2. What a dominate outing from Sonny Gray. He battled some issues at the start of the year not being ready out of the gate, and then the injury, but he's been really really good since rejoining the rotation. Clearly the anchor of the rotation, even with Joe Ryan's success. 13 swings and misses, with all four pitches having at least 2. Just phenomenal stuff.
  3. Took us 6 inning for a GIDP tonight. Has to be a record.
  4. Urshella is hitting .250/.333/.444 with two homers at the bottom of the lineup while playing great defense over the past 14 days. He isn't going to be the best player at any given time, but having good production at the bottom of the order while making great plays in the field is something that every good team has.
  5. I have zero issue with the decision to tag right there. It's one thing if Buxton is swinging it like he had been, but he's not, and it isn't like it wasn't a close play.
  6. CB is generally a terrible ump, but that was pretty clearly a strike.
  7. Correa! He has been great since his slow start.
  8. Didn't end in a hit, but that's the type of at bat that could get Buxton back on track.
  9. Anyone else's Bally app keep going to a black screen?
  10. GIO! No idea what the Tigers LF was doing right there, but I'll take it
  11. Another game that we "have" to win with the pitching matchup and putting out the A lineup. And I think this team comes through once again. Twins 6, Tigers 3 PTC: Correa
  12. Twins win! Archer was fairly good, but again struggled to go past the 4th inning. Jax wasn't good, and Smith had his first negative outing of the year. The offense was really good in the first and ninth inning, and terrible in between. Buxton made a bad defensive play and is still MIA at the plate, but I will never be upset with a walkoff! Oh, and Pagan was nasty in not one, but two high leverage innings. Until tomorrow, ENJOY YOUR CHICKEN!
  13. Would've rather see Celestino than Sanchez there
  14. Kyle Garlick is so damn good at what he does
  15. Sigh. Just uncompetitive at bats since jumping on the throat in the first.
  16. Ryan Jeffers is hitting .205/.296/.308 in May with 1 HR and 1 double. He had a nice stretch early in the season, but he's been unplayable (at the plate) in May
  17. yep. I've said it before, but Archer is going to be a really good reliever when the time comes. I don't think it'll be until August or September, but when it does, he's going to be really good. He's allowed just 5 runs his first time through the order in 7 starts prior to tonight, and an OPS of just .624. The stuff should play up in the pen too.
  18. Great job by Thielbar to come in and shut things down. Going to have to win this one without Duran (probably). Getting a 2 or 3 run lead would be huge.
  19. Sigh. Smith was going to allow a run eventually, I just hoped it wasn't today. The Twins got off to a fantastic start, but have taken miserable ABs from the 2nd inning on. Buxton's dropped catch looms large. And the Tiger's bullpen isn't as bad as you think. Third best in the league in ERA.
  20. I've been harsh on other players so it's only fair to be harsh on Buxton...he has to make that catch, especially when the bat isn't making an impact on the game.
  21. Byron has been really conscious of the wall this year, which is good, but that's a ball that he has caught nearly every time in his career
