  1. I have a soft spot for banana slugs (UC Santa Cruz, i think?) but recently Pickle Packers has claimed my attention. Chameleons are also an interesting choice. In my humble college athletic experience, as a bit of humorous motivation, my coach used a slug stamp on my forehead when i arrived a bit late for practice. He had good motivators in my opinion: butterscotch for winners, and little plastic E.T. figures for personal bests in fitness tests. Alas, i don't mean to wax too nostalgic... But i figured the question was worth a response, even if particularly late in the game.
  2. Gosh. I woulda spelt it: L A U G H T E R M E Glad i'm not graded on my spelling...
  3. Doubles! From Hicks and Santana. We have us a tie game.
  4. Gardy with the challenge has prevented it....
  5. Ground out, strike out, ground out, i think.
  6. Oh well... At least you don't have to hate Mauer anymore. Vargas gets his shot at the cycle.
  7. You mean people didn't have faith in the Tiger bullpen? Well, now we get to prove it wasn't a fluke in the bottom of the 9th...
  8. Oh, second try (at answering it) For folk who can't book beatles?
  9. These hits are obviously negative hits. If only the runs were too... I obviously jinxed someone. Sorry.
  10. Yes. (Probably also dependent on one's neighbors. And how long one's arms are.)
  11. Number of hits Swarzak is allowing per inning seems to be decreasing. I particularly liked the double play to end the second. Obvious question is can we touch Scherzer to get back in the game?
  12. Now i'm waiting to see what happens when Gardy says "Release the Kraken!" It might not be a pitchers duel, but it still could be a good game.
  13. We're getting the second game off to a better start. Well stroked, Mr. Arcia.
  14. Announcers were pointing out that afternoon lighting handicaps the hitters.
  15. Oh yeah, and another one... Seems he's taking his 11-1 walk ratio seriously. I would like to second the motion for more runs. White ballot, anyone?
  16. Concur. Though i'd prefer to specify they be scored by Twins... If that helps?
  17. Quintana is keeping pace with him... What's the combined strike out record?
  18. We got something going with two on and none --- i mean one... er, two outs. Strike outs. Hats off to Quintana, i guess. I don't think i'll ever get used to it...
  19. Alright. Now down to 1 inning... Probabilistically, scoring 7 runs in 1 inning is like flipping a coin and getting how many heads in a row? Where are Rosencrantz and Guildenstern when you need 'em?
  20. Down by 7, 2 innings left. We can take them if we just score 4 runs each inning. What did we do that one time we were hosting Detroit?
  21. And Revere catches Worley's fly to deep center to lead off the second. Who'd a thunk...
  22. I should read a book too... Figured i'd mention Worley got Revere to ground out 4-3.
