  1. The End (er a little late. I'm afraid i napped, and missed Meyer walking for and King 3. And Pinto gunning down a runner!) Don't miss the next exciting spring training installment: A Half o' Pittsburgh ventureth into Hammond Stadium. Well, i suppose you can miss it. Just remembered NCAA Basketball is happening, and everyone still has hope. Good times!
  2. No longer a 1 run lead. Their center fielder hit a two run dinger. Oh well.
  3. Pop up, then double play leave the bases loaded. But we still have a 1 run lead.
  4. Vargas/Rosario get struck/thrown out in an inning ending double play. Something was amiss, as Rosario didn't slide... Is this a growing pain?
  5. 2-0 on 3 2 out hits in the top of the second. I caught, um, i mean, i saw the last bein' a double just beyond a diving center fielder.
  6. Minnesota runs out... 1) Danny Santana at Shortstop 2) Jordan Schafer in Right field 3) Eddie Rosario in Center field 4) Kennys Vargas at First base 5) Oswaldo Arcia in Left field 6) Jose Martinez at Third base 7) Chris Herrmann Catching 8) Eric Fryer batting for the pitcher 9) Doug Bernier at Second base with Ricky Nolasco toing the rubber. Tampa Bay runs out... 1) David DeJesus in Left field 2) Rene Rivera batting for the pitcher 3) Asdrubal Cabrera at Shortstop 4) Evan Longoria playing Third base 5) Juan Francisco at First base 6) Logan Forsythe at Second base 7) Steven Souza Jr. in Center field 8) Curt Casali Catching 9) Jake Elmore in Right field with Nathan Karns toing the rubber. (i'd started typin' it up, but withheld makin' a new topic when i saw yesterday's archived)
  7. Got a few friends in the Hartford area what took me to see Ben Revere playin' for the Rock Cats... I think i best ask what they think of it. I do like the name though, truly quirky!
  8. As the Mets will say at the end o' spring training... To Shea. If we's quotin' shakespeare, i'll dig up a bit of wit of Andy Griffith: "It wasn't about bein' or not bein', it was about doin' or not doin'." (speakin' o' which, that'd make a worthwhile signature. Once more into my settings.)
  9. Yup, beaten by the teams from cities starting with B. We got stung by the Bees...
  10. Haven't been following too closely, but it seems Boston is still knotted at 1-1, and Baltimore has fiendishly let the Twins back to within a run. A couple of doubles with a runner on resulted in runners at second and third with less than two out. Rosario got a sac fly in the 4th inning under those circumstances, and Nunez got a single (then later got thrown out stealing second) 3-2 the Birds.
  11. Er, gameday also lists Pelfrey against Boston and Santana against Baltimore... Pelfrey almost stranded a leadoff double by Catcher Fielder Betts, but he gets plated with 2 outs by a Hanley Ramirez single. Arcia throws Hanley out tryin' to advance to 2nd. That gives Minnesota an outfield assist in each game.
  12. Er... Probably the single and dinger following Delmon's out were strictly speaking, more interesting. Baltimore is up 2-0
  13. And on the other field, Delmon Young catches a Schafer fly ball for an out, but Rosario guns Delmon down at second.
  14. Twins take an early lead 'gainst Boston. Shane Robinson walks, steals second, advances on a Plouffe ground out, and scores on Vargas' double. Arcia then singles, leaving runners at the corners. (Where would i be without gameday? Probably futzin' with the yahoo or espn equivalent, i expect. Someday i'll learn the value of comparative shopping, but for now, i'm lazy)
  15. Well, that's that. Who's up next... Split game: Baltimore at home and Boston on the road. (Pelfrey and Santana respectively)
  16. Parmelee is battling tough in the bottom of the 9th, 1 on (bloop to left) and no out. Finally ends with a double play. One more out to go. Hope i can stay awake for it.
  17. All naps are awesome, but some naps are more awesome than others...
  18. Yup. My bad. I guess i need to get stretched out so i can stay awake for a full game. But yeah, i'm not too worried. Gives the players a chance to work on higher leverage situations. All for the good of the team.
  19. I take a nap, and it's a game again... That'll teach me.
  20. Announcers have said something about the wind blowing out if you get the ball high enough. The Twins pitchers are probably doing a better job of keeping the ball down?
  21. 10-1... I think i recognize the pattern. The next one will be with 4 runners on base. (and only Plouffe's wasn't with 2 outs. I was originally trying to think something witty about a 2 out sac fly, but thought better of it)
  22. Big Vargas comes up big. 6-1. Now 2 on, no outs after back to back singles by Rosario and Nunez.
  23. Good fielding by Dozier to take a hit from Davis.
  24. Yeah, that was a good catch o' Hicks. In the 4th, 2 quick outs, Rosario gets a triple to the wall in right field, and Nunez puts one out. Up 3-1!
  25. My, that was fast. Thank you, Plouffe! Anyone else want to find the outfield stands with a ball?
