  1. Granite with his first Major League hit earlier tonight? How nice! What i miss? How'd it go down?
  2. Based loaded, no outs. If there is one thing i have learned from following the Twins... We got 'em right where we want 'em.
  3. Okay. I am fed and settling for a long summer's night. I'm following this game until the end!
  4. Drat. I missed it. Any chance Houston will commit one too?
  5. Will i get a budget to seek professional help writing game thread intros? I think 5 chief style jokes should suffice, but they sound open to negotiation... (I got a sneaking suspicion my pro might be a con...)
  6. And for the other side... 1. George Springer ( R) CF 2. Jose Altuve ( R) 2B 3. Josh Reddick (L) RF 4. Carlos Correa ( R) SS 5. Brian McCann (L) C 6. Carlos Beltran (S) DH 7. Yuli Gurriel ( R) 1B 8. Marwin Gonzalez (S) LF 9. Alex Bregman ( R) 3B
  7. Indeed. We are going to catch the Rankees, right?
  8. I can only sympathize with Mr. Mauer on the clog issue. It probably has painful bilateral associations.
  9. Me too... Any recommendations? I just want to not have to think about anything more than removing or adorning them for the next 2 years/200 miles, whichever comes first.
  10. Will catch upon the game thread eventually. Got intro in just before i left connectivity. Wireless is not yet everywhere...
  11. Shouldn't it be the Non-All-Star break? If it is broke, how should we fix it? Granite! Get the jokes out of your system now. You'l need them when that one pitcher gets called up. Better done, than done well... Baltimore Orioles: P. Ubaldo Jimenez (R ) 1. Seth Smith (L) RF 2. Manny Machado ( R) 3B 3. Jonathan Schoop ( R) 2B 4. Adam Jones (R ) CF 5. Mark Trumbo ( R) DH 6. 12. I must remember 1. for future use... At this point in my life, i'm a ninja snooze button pusher.
  13. Wow. A Schedule. You are far more organized than i...
  14. Only ebcause nothing was hit my way. And looks like the free game cheated me of the final out.... I blame the 7 second delay in broadcast since the superbowl incident. Mutter mutrer.
  15. Better start than yesterday. Leastwise the top half of the first inning.
  16. Whatcha know. MLB's free game of the day.
  17. Most probably. Perhaps they are being framed?
  18. In the fine art of being ambiguous, that was kinda what i was driving at. Who's motto by the way is "Live free or die" But if someone actually answered that Zach had arrived at Target Field and was shagging flies, available off the bench. Well, that would have been both helpful and a perfectly valid response. So strictly speaking. Yes. that was helpful. It reduced the need for and increased the ease of explaining myself. It is a good talent and requires practice despite its discouragement as regards humour.
  19. What is the current state of the Granite?
  20. Is this what we get for setting the bar too low? Personally i hope he pitches well.
  21. The online thing with rankings upgraded him from 29.9 to 30.0 feet per second, and i attribute it to that run...
  22. 1) Home. The batter starts there. And a run is tallied when they return safely. Why all the running about? Well, for one thing, it wouldn't be much of a game, i guess. Why's it called home? I don't know. 'Cause it's shaped like a house, leastwise as viewed from the field? The Twins' home is Target Field, and they have not had the best luck there. I could say something self-depricating about being gracious hosts or something, but that is neither here nor there. Feel free to discuss it, though. Twinsdaily hosts these here game threads. That doesn't quite do them justice. I think it is a better characterization to say this is their home. I am grateful for all the effort what goes into taking the trash out, and the fridge stocked, but more so the community aspect here, and i know they are strongly connected. 2) Loss One can lose more than just a baseball game... I'll try not to complain too much if i do. But that bein' said, in the immortal words of Fezzig "I hope we win." 3) Leading off. I hope people were paying attention last night. Just because their first batter hits a home run... Or for that matter, the second batter too... don't mean the game is over. I would like to draw an observation from that. Just because i fail to write an interesting or thought provoking game thread, don't mean it won't be worth reading or participating in... 4) Run everything out. Going with out saying isn't as bad as saying with out going... 5) Out of everything... Including ideas of what to say here. Well, not strictly true. I got plenty of things on my mind these days... and there may be a place and time for everything, and well, i'll keep looking i suppose. Orioles Wade Miley (L) 1. Joey Rickard ( R) LF 2. 23. Yup. I thought to point that out as well. But speakin' as someone who used to use "good morning" as a time independent greeting, it's night for someone.
