It is certainly a common and understandable occurrence, but i don't think it is a defining attribute. It is theoretically possible for a thread to be about the game without it.

Oh, saw that one. I'd just stepped away, and thought maybe it had happened again if it was asserted that the rule didn't actually apply to them.

I don't know... One benefits from trying, and i wouldn't want them to ever stop trying. So i am also okay with less of a sense of security, but they can always turn things around, Well... i hope they don't get dizzy.
