SouthDakotaFarmer's Achievements

  1. Put a DQ ice cream cake on the bag and Parms might steal 2nd base back in the bottom of the 5th.
  2. I believe the title should read 'The Day I Almost Caught a Foul Ball.'
  3. This was meant to say 4/9. Either way, game at noon. Today (Wednesday)
  4. I have 3 extra tickets in SECTION 11, ROW 6 for Wednesday's 12PM (4/8) game Vs. the A's. I'm a 30 yr old farmer from SD and my other farming buddies backed out because they said they had to haul corn to the ethanol plant. Boo! Anyway, I don't understand Craig's list, I read Twins Daily, and thought this would be a cool place to give them away. Yes, I said give them away. I have no desire to sell them. They are free. As long as you can deal with me being an A's/Twins fan and enjoy a loud, boisterous fellow. I will check back here in the morning at 930 or so (if i can figure out this computer thing) and try to figure a way to share cell numbers. I hope to see some replies, otherwise I'm going to give them to the hottest chicks I can find at a before bar. Good luck.
  5. Here's a wild thought. Let's see if our pitchers can hit over the Mendoza and have Nunez (or ANYBODY else DH for Flory) Okay, I'm obviously kidding. Going to my first game since last year at this time. (as a farmer it's hard to drive 6 hours over here...field timing). I'll be the handsome 30 yr old A's, yes the A's are my 2nd favorite team / Twins fan 3 rows above the front of the A's dugout. I'll will most likely be loud and wildly cheering both teams simultaneously. I hope it's a 9-8 9th inning finish. Don't care who wins. PROMOTE DANNY SANTANA, please!
  6. Lets just hope he doesn't get fat and lose his nimbleness and ability to play the hot corner.
  7. I can't remember where are read/heard this, but a few months ago rumor had it that Hicks has benn playing golf all day and everyday this winter. I love me some golf, but back when I played ball in college, if I spent to much time golfing, it would really screw with my baseball swing. Obviously there is a reason I'm sitting on my couch at age 30 and not playing baseball anymore, but does this argument hold merit? I hope I dreamed this up and didn't actually read or hear it.
  8. Thanks for the article. I had to watch Pelotero for the 4th time on Netflix. Then I started watching youtube videos of Sano. Kind of makes me feel tingly inside. Bring him up in July!
  9. It may be the fact that he is a corner outfielder and has the same body type and facial features, but he reminds me of Bobby Abreu. I hope he ends up being a walk machine and hitting 25+ dingers a year like Abreu did. I have no idea how his "metrics" or whatever you number nerds call it match up to Abreu's but I like the way this kid approaches his at-bats.
  10. Mauer is not a lock HOFer. Off the cuff here, but I think Joe has somewhere around 100 career homeruns. Even if he steps it up a bit, which he should playing 1B, there is absolutely no chance that he will get to 300 dingers. With something like 1400 hits, he will be lucky and by lucky I mean he needs to stay healthy, in order to approach the magic 3000 hit mark. If he can get to that figure, the HOF discussion can be broached. As a fan I would be happy to see him belt an average of 25 big-flys a year as a first baseman. That might be asking a little much, considering his best year he hit 27ish. Let's just hope he can stay healthy, the Twins can develop a true #2 hitter and Mauer can move to the part of the lineup where he belongs - #3 hitter.
  11. Might as well see if we can trade Willingham and Doumit for a bag of baseballs or maybe some batting gloves and a low prospect. Nice to have a South Dakota boy back in the Twins mix. Plus, I like it when Kubel winks...constantly. What is that about?
  12. I wouldn't trade Sano for the cure to AIDS. That's it.
  13. The upside Hendricks has/had was far to high. He has started 28 times, but sometimes it takes guys a little longer to translate their minor league success. What Hendricks may lack in confidence. Why wouldn't we let a guy like Mastro go? Lower power, speedy center fielders are all over the place. Then again, so are pitchers with career 6.0+ ERA....
  14. Beane also loves cash. Check his history and he almost always gets his trading parter to send some cash considerations in the deal. Adam Walker, Tonkin, and cash could work. Who knows though. As Mcginnity said above, Beane loves to stockpile young SP. So, with that said I imagine my proposal wouldn't work without a Low-A SP in the deal. Crap, I typed all of that for nothing I guess.
  15. He has a 12 mil option for 2015 so he isn't a free agent in 11 months. Considering the risk involved with his contract and health concerns I wouldn't think Beane would be looking for anything crazy. Maybe a lefty reliever for the middle of the farm system? I'm also a cheap-a$$ farmer so....
