  1. Vietnamese? Pho Quan. End of story. BBQ? "Challenged" sounds polite; "screwed" sounds accurate.
  2. Is there any good BBQ in Mpls any more? Out of the loop here... last fave place was Smokehouse on 4th & Lake, don't know if they're still there...
  3. The right move. Got that out of the way. Wouldn't be surprised to see him in some coaching role...
  4. You had to bring BBQ into it... ok. I was born in Fort Worth, so naturally BBQ = beef for me, and nothing beats the beef brisket sandwich from Angelo's. Shhh! Keep it on the down-low... KC BBQ is nothing to sneeze at, tho, but comparing with Memphis and Carolina styles, I'd say Texas has it all the way. Keep your bike seat. Gimmie some nice, marbled beef brisket or beef ribs, smothered in mesquite goodness. Oh, baseball? Now we see if the last series was a fluke. I had the Brew Crew as my NL Dark Horse, and KC as My AL Dark Horse. Are they for real? Can anyone not named Gibson actually pitch for the Twins? Is our offense for real? This looks like a great series, and should answer a lot of early-season questions.
  5. Kurt Suzuki trails Trout and Jete in OBP by a mere .005 (.380 vs. .375). Kube is all over the top 10 on the AL leader board; Plouffe is top 10 in OBP; Cola stands a good chance to crack 1.000 OPS, and leads the AL in RBI; Dozier leads the AL in HR... must lead MLB in leadoff HR. Nutty. Bonkers. Loving it for as long as it lasts... how long will that be?
  6. No sympathy for Jays fans- sorry. Saw a story somewhere saying that the 8-walk inning tied a Senators record set (I think) back in the 30's vs. Yanquis... guess we know the outcome to that particular tilt. So, we've been there, too. Ugly baseball happens. 20-10 final scores happen. The Cubs happen. When your team benefits, take it. Don't look back at the corpse... nothing to see here, move along...
  7. Safe to assume you're OK with the "life-sucking" part?
  8. Ah, nothing like the mountain air to perk you up... Very happy for Morneau (and Cuddy and Hawk); thanks for posting this! Try my best to keep an eye on former Twins but lord knows they're everywhere...
  9. Favorite (former) Twins: Kirby, Torii Favorite (current) Twin: Dozier Favorite (former) pizza: Uptown Pizza's Florentine; Hawaiian Favorite (current) pizza: anything from Punch
  10. Respectfully, Crazy Talk. BoSox can cast an eye around the League and dream on, but it ain't going to happen. My boy Dozier must have found Cuddy's notebook or something, but he's saying all the right things, going about the game (and the business of an extension) the "Twins Way". In this org. that means you're on track to become a Made Man. Who could argue with his power so far? If he continues to find his stroke, he'll prove '13 was not a fluke, and get his deal. Without Dozier, what does our middle infield look like? Don't wanna go there...
  11. No CG, fine.. go Tonk!
  12. The Dodgers TV/cable deal is the #1 scandal in MLB.
  13. Right on- I am in Dongguan for work, here in HK for the weekend. Any time business brings you back to China, give a PM first- dinner is on me.
  14. Spent plenty of time in CA, lots of time in SF... I know nothing about batting cages in either city. Where I'm at, this is what we have: http://www.321play.com.hk/bs/ Anyway, Ricky: first good start Real key: Twins hitting.
  15. PFC? You're killing me. As I write, I am in Hong Kong, home of Dim Sum. I'm not putting you down, but there's so much going on in the TC esp. w/Vietnamese food. Things have changed- celebrae it. If you want good Chinese Dim Sum, go to SLP, go to the Yangtze. The managers and servers come from where I'm teaching. It's the real deal. As for beer, the change in laws in the last 2 years has led to an explosion of brew pubs, especially in NE. Game-changer.
  16. Shields... out after 6, for sure.
  17. You made my beer go through my nose!
  18. I'm in Hong Kong right now, TV feed from MLB.tv is always dropping out, so I've got Dazzle and Provus on instead. I think Jon Miller w/SF and Scully w/LA are the best going. Not sure how MLV.tv works for those in Iowa (know you're in a hole w/TV) but, if you get it, one of the best things is that you can listen to both feeds for any game. Love listening to how the other side sizes up the Twins...
  19. Hawk.. my heart goes out to you. Tip: watch on TV, turn the sound off, follow online, and tune to 'BEZ instead.
  20. Oh, crap, you're right! Forgot to Gargy-ize it. OTOH, if Jake is manning the ship, there will be no place for humor. Levity? That's a paddlin'.
  21. Interesting thought.. My pecking order is: Molly Terry Dougie Jake
  22. Yeah, but how many times did that not happen in '13?
