  1. Pinch hit the BIG HRBOWSKY
  2. Put on your rally hat....I just wish it was Joe Nathan...but, it's not...
  3. Warming up to Carroll a little now?
  4. The sleeping dragon needs to start breathing some fire....
  5. Now here is something you don't see often in Twins Territory--a starting pitcher going seven innings. Good for you Anthony!! NOW GET HIM SOME RUNS!!!
  6. Span is looking good at the plate and in the outfield.
  7. There is a video posted in another thread of Delmon making an ugly error in the outfield today for the Tigers....brutal! Glad the Tiger fans get that experience now and not us.
  8. Crap--maybe Swarzak is running out of gas
  9. Our boys need to get some runs for Swarzak....Willingham caught that? Good...improvement...Delmon wouldn't have caught that.
  10. Compared to how Liriano looked yesterday, Swarzak looks like Cy Young.
  11. I spoke too soon, although that Hamilton hit should have been a double play...Joe has a nice stretch at first...and just like that they are behind 2-1...ahoot!! I jinxed him....
  12. Swarzak is doing all right. Very encouraged by that...
  13. 1. Going to my first game at Metropolitan Stadium and sitting in the outfield bleachers, and watching Harmon Killebrew hit a home run. 2. The 1991 World Series. 3. The 1987 World Series 4. The 1965 World Series, and crying after we lost game 7 to the Dodgers. 5. Taking my dad to our first game at Target Field (Mauer got his MVP Award that day.) 6. Watching Torii Hunter make many spectacular plays in the outfield. 7. Watching Kirby hustle (even in meaningless spring training games.) 8. Crying HARD when Kirby had to retire 9. Watching Rod Carew steal home. 10. Watching Tony O hit the ball.
  14. I was at the game yesterday with my son. We were pretty depressed early on, and then the HITTING PARADE began. I saw it live and still don't believe what I saw...absolutely amazing. I knew these guys could hit better than the first four games showed, but I never expected 20 hits including three blasts. I, too, am worried about defense...love Willingham, but he seems a little lost in the outfield, as does Plouffe. I like Carroll at short. I just watched the Texas outfielders make two outstanding plays in the first two innings, the kind Torii made back in the day. I am a little confused about the $6.5 million that Baker will earn this year for not pitching...do the Twins have an insurance policy on his arm? Can't they go out a try to find a starter somewhere?
  15. I do not miss Delmon. He was a very poor outfielder. Drove me nuts. I'm hoping that Josh Willingham can do better out there. THANKS for the video! Classic.
  16. The Twins gave Kirby Puckett the most lucrative contract in MLB to keep him here. I was sad when Torii left, but I understand that economics drives everything. I don't think the Twins care what nationality a player is, they just want the BEST players that they can get. Look at Nishi...couldn't even speak English.
  17. I was at the game yesterday. Things looked bleak, Liriano was awful. Then, WHO WERE THOSE GUYS?! I knew they could hit, but when was the last time the Twins hit three home runs in one game, and at Target Field. I thought I was dreaming, and I didn't want to wake up. Willingham is so impressive. Everytime he comes up you just believe he is going to make something happen. GREAT ACQUISITION. His fielding will also improve I think (I hope).
  18. Glad to see that Gardy is really shaking things up....!?
  19. I agree that there are too many good hitters in this lineup for the hitting drought to continue....however, they will probably score 10 runs in one game and then nothing the next day...it is just their MO. I'm going to the game tomorrow, so I hope the hitting parade happens while I'm there.
  20. What else can possibly go wrong? Does this mean Duensing becomes a starter again?
  21. 1. Casilla 2. Mauer 3. Morneau 4. Willingham 5. Parmelee 6. Span 7. Doumit 8. Carroll 9. Burroughs These guys are capable of hitting--so why aren't they?
  22. I know it is only the second game, but there are some big RED FLAGS here already....
  23. I've been to about a dozen major league parks. AT&T was totally awesome--set there on the bay, the Coke bottle, the garlic fries--but the coolest thing is the Giant's video that Far East Movement did with the music from "Like a G6" and changed it to "Like a G-Man"--absolutely brilliant--really revs up the crowd before every game. Brian Wilson even has his own video that they play as he's entering the game. Little kids (and adults) are wearing Brian Wilson beards and "Panda" hats, palm trees with white lights, "Splashdown" board...so many unique touches....I also really like Progressive (it was Jacob's when I was there) and Camden. I did not like Miller (felt like I was in a fish bowl.) TARGET FIELD is great, too!
  24. It's early, hard to get too excited about much yet, BUT, I used to complain about Delmon looking "lost" in LF, and Willingham looked a little lost tonight out there....Doumit should have made that catch yesterday.
  25. Let's hope his perseverance pays off...I'll be rooting for him!
