  1. Just heard on MPR Howard Sinker said that Doumit told the Twins he doesn't want to catch anymore. Surprised me, even with the concussions. Explains the catcher chasing though...
  2. I'm not liking what I'm hearing about Stewart's diva attitude. Confidence and some cockiness is fine, even needed. But alienating teammates and coaches- I'm seeing a Garza 2.0 stituraion coming up. Bummer.
  3. Whoa...all those stats and splits and fastballt this and "soft slider" (love) that.... I'm getting a headache. Hughes might be good, he might be injured all season. Who knows. We don't know what will happen til it happens. Just glad T.R. is spending some $ on pitching, he (&we) might get burned, but at least he is doing something different.
  4. Still surprised that Garza would even consider coming here
  5. Ok, now lets sign Hughes or Kashmir, Salty -I can go either way. Then a third basemen that hits lefty..... In the words of Kfans Paul Allen - "LETS PLAY!!!"
  6. Moar Over/Unders on more former Twins (like Francisco Liriano )
  7. Not sure if I buy Seth as the Pirates GM. The Minnesotan accent kinda gives it away. maybe put a PG-13 rating on this one?
  8. You lost me at "Pelfrey at top of rotation"...
  9. Ummm, maybe because he is 30 and hasn't a consistently good year - or even a consistently goodhalf year. Don't get me wrong I like and pull for the guy (how can you not), but even as desperate the Twins are for starting pitching they are not counting on Deduno.
  10. Dude, it's the offseason of 3X 90-loss team. Not much is going on and if it does it doesn't matter that much (it's not like the Twins are going to make a major signing). I love Aaron's sense of humor and even more John's appreciation of it. It sounds like both of them enjoy doing the podcast (when they can schedule it around Aaron's social/love life) and it comes across in the show
  11. I think this is huge. Especially with Arcia, Sano, Rosario and other young latin players coming up. We used Ramirez last year for that role, but he was hurt most of the year and won't be on the roster this year. Someone like Molina will bring huge intangibles.
  12. Seth, just caught the "almost moved Meyer to #2" (finally got time to properly read the article than just skim it). That's the most provocative thing you said in the whole series. I'm just wondering why? I thought The top 3 were certain locks in their position. Meyer has been too injured and inconsistent to be even be considered over Sano, atleast in my thinking. Is it ceiling? Or quality pitching over batting?
  13. What was the deal with Romero? Seemed like he was on verge of getting called up in May/June then he just disappeared or went into the organization's doghouse
  14. When did Dozier become option for OF? Arcia for 1st? Line up is bot going to matter unless we get some pitching. If Meyer/May/Gibson don't turn out...
  15. Ok. Your scareing me Seth. I want to see Sano next year at some point.
  16. Maybe that the Twins pitchers don't have good enough fastballs to get ahead of the count so they have to try and throw their off-speed stuff for strikes, which get wacked being to close to the hitting zone.
  17. Crap, we traded our whole Cedar Rapids rotation to Oakland?!? I hope we got a good return.
  18. totally off topic; but why is it called a "double U", when it should be called a "double V"
  19. Waiting impatiently for 16-20. What's the ETA on them?
  20. Maybe I'm wrong but like the way the original poster proposed (and the Rockies did) is have 4 starters on a around a 80 pitch count/ 5 innings. I remember the Rockies had a designated "piggie back" reliever (closer to long relief) for each starter who would come in 4/5/6 inning. I don't see any starter going 200 innings.
  21. I would do 3/52$, but giving up the draft pick kills it for me
  22. Wow. I was 12 in '87. That team got me to love baseball. Thank you for the memories.
  23. Does TB have any players left from the Garza trade (after TB I mean, Cubs?) and was Bartlett dealt to San Diego or just released. Just wondering if TB is still repeaing rewards from the DY/Garza trade.
  24. Ok, I understand Liriano and I know Burrent improved, but what is up with the man-love for the Pirates pitching coach? People were gushing about Rick Anderson in 2002-2003. Liriano was good here at times too. Another coach could of figured out Liriano's mechanical issue too. Maybe it is Searage's personality clicked with Lirano. He has had a similar playing career and coaching career as own Rick Anderson
  25. Yeah, Gardy complained about Hicks not playing winter ball on his radio show a couple of weeks ago. One of the things I don't like about him. I'm definitely worried about the Hicks-Gardy relationship
