Wow. I am shocked how many people are against this idea. I mean, yeah, we could wait until the trade deadline, but what if Ryan gets hurt? What if he just has a bad first half? Trade him now while the value is relatively high and he's healthy.
The timing is so weird. I have to wonder if Tom Pohlad sat down with Falvey and told him they'd be cutting to the bone for the next few years and Falvey saw no way to actually be competitive so he just said "A'ight. Imma head out" so he could leave with his rep still somewhat intact.
...or they were going to strip him of the baseball side or business side and he said "No thanks."
What a bummer. I really had high hopes for Eddie J. Seemed like a nice guy who, at least one time, had some solid hitting tools. He seemed at his best when Kyle Farmer was around to mentor him, so maybe a reunion in Colorado will be good for him.
I honestly think he just has a gross habit of smelling his helmet. Also, my wife said Wallner bats like "he's trying to see the ball with his teeth" and now I can't unsee it anytime he's up.
