  1. Generally, I agree with the article. However, the article greatly diminished the importance that San Diego only has one professional sports team. That matters a lot. When it comes to sports entertainment, people in San Diego have one option where to spend their money. In the Twin Cities, people have five professional teams plus numerous college sports events.
  2. I’m of the group that thinks changing managers won’t make a difference unless the front office changes. The front office and manager work as one.
  3. If one thinks Rocco needs to go then Falvey needs to go. As stated in the article, it’s the group-think created and implemented by Falvey that has failed. Just changing the manager will make no difference. Either Falvey has to drastically change the philosophy of how the team approaches playing the game on the field - more speed, more athleticism, bat to ball skills, teaching starting pitchers how to throw more innings (teach them to pitch not just throw) or he has to go too. The only hope, other than the Pohlads selling, is that Falvey changes his approach and gets a manager who can better implement that approach.
  4. I get that the “in thing” now to is to bash everything Twins ( except Target Field, Buxton, and Ryan) but this article seems awfully premature.
  5. I’ve generally believed in Falvey and company until now. The new owner need to bring in a new baseball operations group.
  6. Rocco is not the problem. A different manager still has the same players and same front office philosophy. A new manager isn’t bringing Mays and Aaron with him.
