  1. I'm excited to get out to CHS for the Saints opener in five days!!!!
  2. Good morning, everyone, Another year of Twins baseball is here. I'm excited to see everyone again and honestly hope for the best. Another thing I'm hoping for is to see some of our young talent get a chance to play in the Big Leagues this year. What are your thoughts on today's lineup card? I'm here for anyone who needs to vent or maybe give compliments on the team. Have a great opening day, everyone, and go, Twins!!!
  3. Ryan focused on the 4-seam in the first inning. 11 out of 16 pitches were the 4-seam fastball. Velocity is still around 92-93MPH, so that's promising.
  4. Good old Twins, trying out everyone at every position. I honestly like Martin in center instead of at the corner. I agree, I think Kreidler should be at SS, but they want to get a really good look at flexibility with Gray and Wagaman.
  5. I think the plan is to keep three catchers for now. With Caratini's ability to play first, he looks like he could take some at-bats there and at DH. I still think they are trying to trade Jeffers, but haven't found a team willing to do so.
  6. I wonder how sharp Ryan will be today? Hope he can get up to speed by the time the season starts.
  7. At this point, they would like for him to get two, maybe three at-bats. I'm surprised he's back in the lineup this quickly.
  8. Yes, I found it on Twitter. TJStats is who does these, as well as the umpire scorecards.
  9. Cool little graphic from Prielipp's 1 2/3 today.
  10. Prielipp was a little wild, but he got out of it and was really effective with the fastball. Needs to locate the slider a little better, but all in all, it was a good outing for him.

    Pen Options

I'd like to see Chafin make the team and add a lefty in the pen who has experience. Hopefully he can stay healthy and be a force for us. Chafin Banda and Sands at the back half of the bulpen doesn't sound as bad as people think. The bigger issue will be who stays up and who goes down between the starters and who gets what bulpen role. Raya, Rojas, Prielipp, Abel, Bradley, and Morris will be tough to sort out, assuming your rotation will be Ryan, Ober, Festa, Mathews, and SWR.
  12. I still want to see my guy Fedko get a chance. I know the outfield is full of names, but given the work he puts in and the massive improvement he had last year compared to 2024, he should get a look. I know he's ready to go, and hopefully, he will make it tough on the Twins when Spring Training ends. I'm not saying start him in every game, but I think he should be given a fair chance as the 4th or 5th outfielder, or as the next man up when an injury happens. Mendez is too young, and the Twins don't typically bring up 22-year-olds. Outman's whole approach at the plate last year was lost, and even with a change of scenery, it didn't seem to help him. I don't see much in Roden, honestly. So Gonzalez, Rodriguez, and Fedko should be given a fair chance to win two spots, even pushing Larnach out, possibly.
  13. Junior Caminero is one name I can remember who made some key adjustments. He went to a more closed stance and simplified his hand load to maximize power and bat speed.
  14. I would love to see Lee break out, but without some tweaks to his approach and plate discipline, he will struggle against changeups and sliders low and away. Cut down the strikeouts and have a better pitch selection. He will always have a high chase %, but if he's more selective, that could also increase his slow bat speed and EV. The good thing for him is that Culpepper isn't quite ready to join the big league roster. I could see him putting a little pressure on Lee if he continues to struggle. Lee playing shortstop kind of scares me with his lack of arm strength and range, but if he wants at-bats, that's where the Twins might have to play him.
  15. I agree with this list. I would also look at LF and sneak Allison in there just because he had a more extended stint. Either Mack or Allison is a good pick for me. Brings back some memories for sure.
  16. Great article, Cody, and I 100% agree with your title. The bullpen is in complete shambles, with the Twins now having to convert some of their starters into bullpen roles and vice versa. I'm still not sure what the plan is moving forward, especially if Ryan and or Pablo get traded. It looks like this is what we will have come opening day.
  17. It's fascinating that three of the top six prospects are from the International market. All three have hit Double-A by the age of 18. Hope the Twins can find a gem.
  18. I personally liked Eeles. He can play middle infield. Despite his 5-foot-5 frame, he can hit the ball and has potential for more. 68 stolen bags in two years is also what the Twins want to do more of. In terms of potential, I think the twins gave up more. This team probably won't be good enough for the backup catcher to matter that much. Never hurts to have middle-infield depth, IMO. Could have signed anyone to fill the backup role and keep Eeles. I don't think the Twins really believed in him.
  19. Sometimes I get the fill-ins from internal sources.
  20. Ok, here's a long-term plan for you, if this makes sense. If you factor in the $38 million in guaranteed contracts, with 10 arbitration-eligible players, that leaves 28 spots to be filled by mostly pre-arbitration players making league minimum. So I would say those figures look to be pretty close.
  21. I like Fundy more as a 7th-inning guy; he doesn't have the velocity and strikeout potential I like in a setup/closer role. I do think his sweeper to lefties is a very valuable asset.
  22. Yep, understood. I viewed it as the Twins not wanting to pay him north of $820,000 next year if he has a good year this year.
