Pretty bad game all around for the Twins. The pitching was bad, the fielding was bad, and the hitting was non-existent. 5 baserunners the whole game, one inning left, but pretty pathetic.
Kody Clemens leads the team in home runs as a first baseman with 4. Usually a power position, but not for the Twins. First base is a MAJOR problem. I hope that Royce or whoever can turn that around.
They must not have much faith in Sabato being a first-round pick. I get that first base is the least scouted position and the easiest to learn, but for the Twins, it's been a major problem for years. A lot of teams have power-hitting first basemen for a reason.
Lewis is playing so well in Triple-A that he might stay there long enough to make the All-Star team. I would assume not, but always something to consider.
I commented yesterday, I don't think the Twins have a plan with anything. They wait until someone gets hurt or the fan base puts enough pressure on them to make a move.
Fedde throws his sinker the second most of all his pitches. He has a -6 Run Value, .340 BA, and .547 SLG when throwing it. Come on, Twins, feast on those sinkers.
Eric Fedde has pitched well against the Twins so far in his career. 2-0 with 25 strikeouts in 4 appearances. 1.17 ERA.
Hope the Twins can jump on him early and go home with the sweep!!!!
