  1. God.... I would gladly pay out of my own pocket for some '87 Sweet Music right now.
  2. Viola and Morris.... Boy, how much do you think we'd have to pay to get them signed up for 2013?
  3. Careful, I think Bonnes and Glunn probably now watch any thread I participate in like Kestrel Hawks spying wayward Minneapolis moths. And Hey.... Mauer's got pretty decent SPEED.... Speaking of local bird species: If Mauer batting 2nd helps lead to the type of offensive production foreseen by the wise sages on this board, I will happily be requesting their best recipes for the preparation and consumption of crow.
  4. It's sometimes frustrating when people translate statistical analysis into emotional cynicism. I'm not saying that fans shouldn't be realistic or critical about moves they don't like. I just enjoy a bit of HOPE mixed in with projected wOBA and FIP.
  5. This type of stuff is what I really love about Twins Daily. The statistical analysis from the guys is great, as is Seth's roster talk and Parker's video breakdowns. What really keeps me interested, though, is the stuff I learn about Twins fans. I love the Twins so much that I just plain love Twins fans. Here's to a surprisingly great season starting with all of our routines on Monday!!!! Win Twins!!!!
  6. Not sure how it works. I remember hearing that the clubhouse and equipment manager decided which numbers go to which players, but I'm sure the team steps in and makes certain choices. Especially when choosing a number for one of their "main guys".
  7. Now you're being crazy... my girlfriend's cooking is deliciousness exponentially increased by love and butter. Relax Glunn, nobody blames you for anything, and even if they do they'll just type you a silly message about it. Except ruining my Frodaddy joke, that is nearly unforgivable....
  8. Just tried to send you a private message, but it says your inbox limit is full (I'll skip the obvious jokes)... I would like to have a polite conversation with you if you would be willing to participate.
  9. Oh Glunn, if you only knew....
  10. Excellent analysis of Hicks' status, Nick. These types of thoughts on the Twins organization are why I continue to read what the TwinsCentric crew writes.
  11. You better be careful, jorgenswest, because for all the talk about letting things go at the wild wild west that was an old message board, some people are tattling to the authorities now. Just thought you would appreciate the warning.
  12. God.... The nerve, jorgenswest, putting a discussion like that here. This never would have happened at BYTO!! The nerve...
  13. Seems like it very well could have been a financial choice to not go above a certain number, at least in part because of questions about health/durability....
  14. Hot shot techno-wizard. You don't have to rub your exclusive access in our faces..
  15. Danny Gladden will be alright with that. Players are sometimes funny about the guys who take over their jersey numbers. It's like they're linked together in a small way. Where did you hear this about Hicks wearing #32?
  16. Didn't catch Bert and Dick discussing it. I think he wore #13 at New Britian.
  17. Haven't seen it yet. Not since you know who.... Hicks could definitely do a lot to change the thoughts I've recently associated with #1.
  18. Since conversations about jersey numbers are being universally praised as worthwhile and interesting... http://twinsdaily.com/minnesota-twins-talk/5679-should-plouffe-give-bruno-24-a.html I thought I would pose the question: Now that Hicks has officially won the Starting Center Fielder job, do you think he gets switched to a "better" jersey number than #63? Or do you think he would have been given the option of a lower number or different number early in Spring Training, seeing as how he has definitely been viewed as a future piece of the major league puzzle since before his impressive Spring?
  19. I didn't know that we did know that he didn't ask him.... ........ Very well might have been. Would be the classiest scenario of all.
  20. Oh, but you're doing so well with the hilarious StarTrek face palm. Feel free to private message me with every NSFTD comment you have. I promise PROMISE not to cry foul and then run away from the conversation.
  21. Probably correct. Though I don't know if Bruno would even bring it up or even mention it unless asked about it. Even if he did want it, I doubt he would make any sort of issue out of it. Seems like it would have been something cool for Plouffe to volunteer, but certainly not a knock against him that he didn't.
  22. Got it. Now please explain how to pitch well.
  23. I thought that might be it. I love it.
  24. That's pretty impressive. Only eight years old and already following the Prospects Lists? When I was eight years old I was just wishing my Starting Lineup action figure looked even a little bit like Kirby Puckett.
  25. Is that you in your avatar picture? If so, what is that on your shirt?
