  1. The main point is he is expected to be the backup to Jeffers. Not only underwhelming but a complete joke.
  2. Lee, Miller, Cavaco, Gordon, Michael, etc. etc. Lewis just ok, jury still out on Houston and Culpepper. Could have had some franchise players if gone another route. But with our draft history prob unlikely.
  3. I loved his hit back in the '80's called Rhythm of the Night. Quite a performer.
  4. I am more into contact hitter than a home run every 10 -15 AB. Steer actually hit only one less HR than Wallner and struck out less. That's all. Neither one is a hall of famer. Just tired of Wallners ineptness. Only reason he has a higher OPS is the occasional HR. Not a Wallner fan. Sorry.
  5. Point taken. But this team finds it very hard to improve through trades. Lateral moves or trades for the "future" seem to be the norm. I would just rather have Steer in the lineup than Wallner. Nothing more nothing less.
  6. Thanks for schooling me! I do appreciate it! And I didn't say build around anyone did I? I just prefer Steer over Wallner. But then almost anyone over Wallner.
  7. You have your reasons for liking Wallner i have mine for not. You can cherry pick stats to support your claim and I could do the same. I found 5+where Steer is the better hitter. It's not worth arguing about. Steer is a better fit for this team as i see it. More of a contact hitter and I will take that any day over a chronic strike out hitter. Steer can match the occasional home run Wallner runs into. Enjoy your day!
  8. He fills a need whereas Wallner fills nothing. Stats are close enough to warrant the trade. Cincy would never do it.
  9. Uffda! Looking at this list pretty much explains the Twins futility, because it's typical of many years of drafts. Wouldn't it be nice to trade one marginal player on this list for one that got away? Wallner for Steer. We would then have our 1st baseman.
  10. I would like some experience with the new hire. But how much experience will Falvey allow? Experience usually comes with new ideas and plans. Falvey has his own ideas and plans. Servais would be an ok hire if that's the only guy with experience. I just don't want to go down the Baldelli route again for the next five years.
  11. In the term "designated hitter" is the word "hitter" which Wallner is clearly not. If he could do something other than hit .200 with meaningless power once in awhile, then he would be slightly more valuable. He is another Joey Gallo as has been pointed out a few times here.
  12. Louie! Typical result
  13. Disagree. In fact, the Twins would have to add someone with Ryan to pry away Mc Lean. I agree with an earlier poster, the Mets would never trade Mc Lean for Ryan.
  14. I would take McLean straight up. You know the Mets aren't going to include him with other prospects.
  15. Have to keep him by process of elimination. We have nothing else. He will fit right in with the other numbers we fill the bullpen with. In other words, he is serviceable, nothing special.
  16. To credit him for Buxtons season is laughable. Then he gets credit for Outman, Wallner, Lewis and all of them.
  17. Yes he was. At least the 1A problem.
  18. I don't think they allow you to chew seeds and spit in the booth. They are Roccos two greatest talents.
  19. I got thumbs down on the manager needing to know baseball strategy. That's a problem!
  20. You must be watching a different team? Or you've never seen a major league game before? Shoot me some extraordinary stats from the boys!
  21. Not Roccos fault with the roster. But Roccos fault with the inept baseball strategy!
