  1. I really like reading comments pros and cons about SWR. But the cons kill me. Look at the number of games per season he was pulled 65 pitches or less with 4 2/3 with two outs and the lead? The number is 9. 9 games a season for 3 years. Those 27 wins were handed to someone else. For, a not flashy pitcher who pulls 97, 96, 95 at will when needed. That`s not luck. Yes, he had a stomach bug. I`ll take that any day over constant injuries. You got to ask yourself the real reason you don`t like him. But the same criticism is never mentioned on those injured jokes.
  2. It`s funny how some fans only see what they want to. Why, is SWR always placed into these conversations. Let`s dive into the facts. What starter is taking all pitches from their pitching coach? I`ll wait. What starter that is winning any game they are pitching is pulled in 4 2/3 innings with 50 - 70 pitches? I`ll wait. And, how many times did you see that happen? So, what is the obsession with this guy? The players that are mentioned in this forum are hurt 80 percent of the time Buxton included. Good player doing his thing but, he`s hurt. Festa arm, Kersey, Hamstring, etc. Lewis whatever, Martin Hurt, get my point. You guy`s are incredible with the limited information given. So, you telling me these part time players with their talent excluding Buxton because of the accomplishments are not going to regress? I`ll wait. So, for the numbers people what was his ERA over the last 5 starts he called his pitches or didn`t you notice that something was different? Boy, for the people who played to the game to the people that watch it`s truly amazing. I really like these forums
  3. I agree but, this to create a narrative around a pitcher. Why is he constantly being pulled in winning situations with pitch counts between 50 - 70?
  4. If management allows it. How many times has he been pulled with 70 pitches or few in 4.2 innings with two outs and the lead? 10 times he should`ve been allowed to finish those innings and get a win.
  5. It`s amazing to see the comments on this pulled after 60 pitches what coach does that? or consistently does that ? With a pitcher that still has the lead and has two outs? Yes, he did miss spots, not get first pitch strikes, and claw his way back. But he was on pace to average 12 pitches an inning with finishing 5. His lone mistake was a hanging curve. So, a BP arm not at all. If you want someone up there they have to beat him and they have not. So, was is it that must all those other pitchers can get their asses handed to them and stay on the bump. Compare the numbers
  6. I really don`t understand how show bleacher pitchers talk about someones ceiling. I truly blows my mind. At 23, there are only a couple of guy`s better at starting a game and their team have a better percentage of winning them him and both of those guy`s are established veteran pitchers 30 or over. Its obvious he has been taught to pitch 95 down with movement until they catch up. Well, until New Hampshire he was throwing mid 90`s. So, to say he did better or he`s a fourth are you a GM or club house manager? And, what`s truly funny he hasn`t even got his man body yet. So, back to the earlier points if you are a pitcher and you keep your team in 85 % of the game you start what is the name for a pitcher like that 1, 2, maybe 3? So, let the young man doing what he`s doing because every guy that throws harder than him that you like is getting the butt handed to them
  7. This has been a funny topic SWR has six starts and the lead in every game when he exits either it be lack of hustle plays balls not hit that hard through short and third, dropped or fly balls dropping in front of outfielders. So let`s truly be objective the bullpen has not done their job. Yes, he can throw 95 and is getting back to his old velocity. So, he will have to learn new professional hitters and the point is, if the bullpen does their job and instead of being 1 - 0 with 5 no decisions and is 6 - 0 would we be having this conversation?
