  1. I like these, but I'm curious why you don't do a real one? There has to be plenty of fan questions to make it happen.
  2. Will he start the year in Cedar Rapids? I look forward to seeing Stephen, Lewis Thorpe, and Stewart this season. Should be another fun year in Cedar Rapids.
  3. I enjoyed watching all of these players and their stories. I wish that Colabello could've had more success. Will be interesting to see if he can adjust to MLB pitching standing so far off the plate. Bernier could certainly get another shot as there doesnt seem to be many utility players in the upper minors. Albers with a successful start could be on the verge of a callup if Gibson, Meyer, or May struggle. I'm sure Thielbar is already locked into the '14 bullpen lefty role.
  4. I read somewhere when the deal was signed that Kubel was confident he would make the roster. I think the Twins had something worked out with him to sign a minor league deal keeping him off the 40 man roster to give them time to make moves. Kubel should also be a better corner outfielder than Doumit. Rotating Willingham, Kubel, and Arcia between the corners and DH spots.
  5. If Deduno is healthy it is him without question. If not he ends up on the DL and Diamond gets the shot with Worley trying to get sent through waivers.
  6. I dont see how he can really bring much more to the table than what Herrmann or Fryer would bring. Seems the money couldve been spent elsewhere. Now who gets removed from 40 man to make room for someone who doesnt bring much more than what we have?
  7. TR may be taking a shot at the bow again this year like past years. Hopefully if he signs player to push players they are legitimate players to actually push them. Players in the past that were signed for this reason werent enough to actually scare the players for their jobs.
  8. Kubel having confidence he would make the Twins roster makes sense now. im sure he was told he would be on the roster after they made some trades. I'm sure he helped them by taking the minor league deal and staying off the 40 man. I wonder if Gilmartin being a stud against lefties will make it easier to trade Duensing and save more payroll for other players.
  9. I can't help but wonder how different it would be had the twins traded Santana for Hughes. Would Hughes have been a better pitcher for the twins? Would he even be a twin in 2014 as he would still be a free agent?
  10. If the question is when could he....I would say right now as no one should be blocking him. But I would say May at the earliest but most likely June.
  11. With all we hear about Berrios, I noticed that Miguel Sulbaran, (acquired in Butera trade) with 9 more innings pitched had a lower ERA, whip, walks, and HR allowed at the same level. Is there any reason why he isn't considered a better prospect? He is also only 2 months older.
  12. Thielbar was the most consistent all year so he gets my vote. Followed by Pressly and Arcia. Everyone on the list showed glimpses of good play but mostly poor and inconsistent. When that many players or pitchers are playing so inconsistent its hard for anyone to get picked up by others high level of play.
  13. How long does the AFL last? Should be fun to follow and see how well these guys stack up.
  14. Justin is probably the only Twins player in the last few years that I'd like to shake hands with and thank him for his time. I thought it would be easy to let him go but now that its over it seems like a waste. Seems like we got nothing in return. Thank you Justin! Lots of memories that i wont soon forget!
  15. I agree. They had to have been willing to give away Butera and got a pitcher in return that has major league potential. I would've expected a return like that for Morneau.
  16. Just wondering.....Do they ask the players if they want to play? Just interested as Buxton has played a lot more games this year than in any previous years.
  17. That was a nice article on Walker. Hopefully he can adjust to more advanced pitching as he moves up and provide the Twins with another big bat.
  18. Coming into this season I thought we would see a lot of emerging young talent to get us close to at least wild card contention next year. But considering it still seems our rotation will be lacking yet again in '14 I'm pretty disappointed.
  19. Then they traded Jose Morales in the off season which left us with Butera as Mauers back up.
  20. Still can't believe the Twins got a good pitcher like Sulbaran in return for Butera. Even if he doesnt reach the majors. It seems like Button has really cut down on his being caught stealing. Didn't Molitor spend some time with him? I remember reading about how he was really just out running the ball more the stealing earlier in the year.
  21. If Hendricks gets the call to pitch in Gibson's spot maybe Meyer takes his spot in Rochester??? Doubtful, but it would be nice to see how he would fare in a Rochester playoff run.
  22. I believe Gibson will come back strong next year and have a solid season. Hicks on the other hand is more of a question. His power has come on more as his career has gone on, but his average has been pretty inconsistent. So from a player that was scouted as a 5 tool player he is going to need to hit better than .200 even with his walk rates and gold glove defense. If he had the minor league track record of Arcia, Rosario, or Sano I would have more faith in a Hicks rebound in '14.
  23. If they think Rosario is ready for the majors, I think they need to give Dozier another shot at short, or see what they could get pitching wise via trade.
  24. I think they give him the Gibson approach. Arizona fall league and start next year in AAA until he pitches with consistency.
  25. I read in the comment section of the Butera/Sulbaran trade article on MLBtraderumors that Sulbaran could be hurt, possibly needing TJ surgery. Obviously this could be false info but Im curious if this could be true.
