  1. He pitched 5 shutout innings against Texas Rangers and threw only 80 pitches. I consider that's impressive. I think he is ready for the major league. He is a rookie, how many starts has he had in the ML? At least Hendriks was given a season to prove where he belongs.
  2. That's because Gardenhire did not want him to throw a lot of pitches. He had one outing in which he gave up no runs in 5 innings and threw only 80 pitches and then he got pulled by Gardenhire. That's against TEXAS RANGERS. In my opinion he is a lot more effective than Hendriks. He is also a lefty. How many starts did Hendriks get in order to earn a win??? I feel that one good start against a REALLY bad AAA team does not earn a quick promotion to the major. One bad start against a GOOD major league team does not earn a demotion to the minor either. I don't think it's time to promote Gibson yet. Deduno and De Vries should get the chance before Gibson. I worry about Worley and Pelfrey more. They are not rookies and their ERA is over 6. Come on, go easy on the rookies.
  3. Come on, one bad outing from Pedro the rookie, someone in his family passed away, he could not focus. I would worry about Worley and Pelfrey more.
  4. So you prefer flame throwing peanuts like Hoey right? Btw, where is this Hoey guy now?
  5. Lost to the NY Mets twice and the 3rd game postphoned. Winless there as well. Trying hard not to be swept is nothing to be proud of.
  6. Hicks is going to be sent down when Mastro comes back. Ramirez is going to stay as long as he hits. Doumit would get his playing time as a part time catcher, DH and RF. What's the problem?
  7. Well Hernandez got pulled after throwing 80 pitches and 5 innings of no run ballgame. Hernandez had a perfect 5th inning, no baserunners allowed.
  8. I doubt it, he would make other mistakes. The bottom line is he is not a good manager.
  9. Well Gardenhire did pull a healthy Hernandez out after 5 innings (0 runs allowed), Hernandez also had a perfect last inning, no baserunners allowed!!! Hernandez only threw 80 pitches at that time. My point is Gardenhire should know his starting pitchers limitation, he should have stretched out Hernandez and limited Pelfrey.
  10. I believe De Vries and Deduno are ready when they are healthy.
  11. He just could not get anyone motivated in the post season. He does not work well with young players. He often publicly criticizes his players. Clearly he is not a good manager.
  12. I am sorry I really don't see why Gardenhire is one of the best managers in baseball. If a manager needs a talented roster to succeed, he is not a good manager. Gardenhire does not work well with young players. Don't blame it all on Bill Smith. I think Gardenhire was the one behind most of the decisions made. Do you think it was Bill Smith who wanted Hardy to go?
  13. Wrong again. He played and went 0 for 5 with 3 strikeouts. He needs to be moved down to the 9th spot until Mastro returns. By then he could be sent down to AAA.
  14. They are experienced major leaguers and all of them are starters who had some success, Robertson has not shown anything close to that.
  15. Letting someone with an era of 5.40 last year and an era of 8.49 in the spring to start the season in the major league is a disgrace to the players and the fans.
  16. I don't think Hendriks is ready though, he just does not have major league stuff.
  17. Escobar is 3 years younger than Florimon, statistically he hits better than Florimon.
  18. Escobar has some speed, he is about 3 years younger than Florimon, he hits better than Florimon, he also plays good defense.
  19. Let's give Dozier some time to adjust to his new 2B position.
  20. I agree, though they should have kept both Walters and Hernandez. Both could pitch long innings. Hernandez is a lefty. When Deduno is healthy, bring him back.
  21. I would give Roenicke a chance since he has the experience. Robertson should start the season in AAA. However I like Deduno better, if he is healthy he should be back in ML. In my opinion Deduno should be a long reliever. I don't have much hope for Swarzak to do well.
  22. Pressly truly earned the spot like De Vries.
  23. Top ten BP? I am not sure, Fien, Robertson and Roenicke all struggled in spring. I would prefer to see Hernandez, Walters and Perdomo instead.
