  2. Note, Deibinson Romero has been adopted now.
  3. You can now begin adopting your second prospects (or first, if you didn't adopt one before). I apologize for being late. Got called into a meeting last minute.
  4. He'll stay there until at least the MWL All-Star game, and I think he will move up. That's so unusual for the Twins to do. And, I've seen a lot of guys have great Aprils and then tail off, so let's see how he sustains it. The man is incredibly gifted though!

  6. At Twins Daily, we believe that the Minnesota Twins minor leaguers deserve to be recognized. The success of Adopt-a-Prospect is evident. It provides a place on the internet where minor leaguers can be recognized for their achievement. Last week, 41 Twins minor leaguers were “Adopted” and you can learn more about them here. Starting at 9:00 a.m. central time on Friday, April 26, more players can be adopted. (Adopt HERE) For the first time, we are going to do a second round of Adopt-A-Prospect. [PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]We will allow people to adopt a second player. The other rules remain the same. Start a new thread with the player’s name, and in the first post, tell us all about your player. Brag up your players. It should be a lot of fun to “adopt” some of the lesser-known minor leaguers and learn all about them and be able to share that with Twins Daily readers. Be sure to check out the other rules below, and if you feel that you can meet the requirements, please stop by on Friday and adopt-a-prospect. Take a look at who has already been drafted below. Then check out the Twins Daily Rosters & Payroll list for the minor league rosters and decide who you would like to learn more about. Then, down below in the Comments, after I’ve kicked of Adopt-a-Prospect 2 on Friday morning, post your adoption! Each Twins prospect can only be adopted once. It will be first-come, first-serve in a new thread here that will be opened at 9:00 a.m. CST on Friday morning. (We will have another Adopt-a-Prospect after the Draft where you could draft a third prospect.) 2) Once you have confirmed that you have that player, you can post a thread. The title of the thread you start should just be that player's name. First post must be an introduction of the player. The format of the post is up to the individual, but please be sure to get all the important information needed on the player. For Example, Name, Position, Handedness, Drafted/Signed/Acquired (out of where/what round), Previous Stats, etc. Feel free to make it as detailed as you want. (There are a lot of websites you could link to such as their Baseball-Reference, The Baseball Cube, First Inning, Fan Graphs, MiLB.com, affiliate’s websites, etc.) 3) After the initial post (and throughout the season), you MUST update the thread AT LEAST once every week. If you fail to do this, the prospect can be taken away from you. [if a player is inactive due to injury or suspension, this requirement is waived as appropriate.] If you would like to update more often, please feel free. Updates should, at least, include Year-To-Date numbers for the player. The more information given, however, the better. Brag up your prospect! 4) Any major event (i.e. Promotion/Demotion/Trade/Perfect Game/4 HRs in one game...) must be reflected in the thread within a day of the event. Failure to update for this purpose may result in losing your adoptee. 5) Threads will be closed one week after a prospect has been traded out of the organization. However, if the player is traded back to the Twins (for some reason), the member who had the prospect will have the option to regain the prospect. 6) If a player is placed on the 25-man roster, this is wonderful news and you can continue that player’s thread. Reward for your player getting to the big leagues is that you can adopt a second prospect at that point. Even if the first player is eventually sent back to the minor leagues, you can maintain both prospect threads. 7) All other rules which are enforced on the main board will be enforced here.
  7. On Thursday night, Baxendale improved to 3-0, though his ERA increased to 1.54. He gave up 2 ER in six innings for the Miracle.
  8. On Thursday night, Walker hit his third double and his third home run and drove in four runs.
  9. Niko connected for his first home run of the season tonight in Cedar Rapids 16-7 win.
  10. With a first inning double, AJ extended his hitting streak to nine games. He had two hits again tonight and is now a guy that Doug Mientkiewicz certainly doesn't want to take out of the lineup!
  11. Leachman was promoted to Hi-A Ft. Myers and made his debut there in RF and had a single.
  12. Your writing is just fine. Make your postings how you want them, make them yours. As for Lee, I will say that he's got a chance. I question if he'll be a starter still and that's a big factor in him not being in my top 30 (though I don't think he'd crack my top 50 either). He's got talent. There is upside there. Just a lot of uncertainty too. Also, I always encourage people to put together their own personal Top 10s, Top 30, top 50, or whatever they like. Prospect lists should vary. There should be differing opinions. That's what makes them fun. There are prospects I'm much higher on than other people are, and vice versa. That gives us something to discuss. And, I"m going to be right on some, and wrong on some, and that's good. I appreciate your contributions!

  14. On Thursday, the Minnesota Twins fell to the Texas Rangers by a score of 2-1. Vance Worley gave up two runs in five innings, but the bullpen threw four scoreless innings and kept the team in it. Unfortunately, the Twins’ bats were quiet. Their lone run came on Josh Willingham’s third home run of the year. All four Twins full-season affiliates won on Thursday. Two of the affiliates scored double-digit runs. The top two prospects added to their home run totals, while their top pitching prospect was on the mound early in the morning. So much to write about, so let’s get to the Minor League Report for Thursday, April 25! (And be sure to look to adopt another prospect today too!) Rochester Red Wings 10, Syracuse Chiefs 7 Box Score The Red Wings had a 7-2 lead going into the bottom of the 6th inning. Shairon Martis worked the first five innings and gave up two runs on five hits. He walked none and struck out four. Caleb Thielbar entered and gave up five runs on five hits and a walk and was able to record just one out. Daniel Turpen came on and got the final two outs of the sixth and worked a perfect 7th frame as well. Luis Perdomo struck out two in the final two innings. Fortunately, then the Wings lost their big lead, they responded. They scored one run in the 7th, the 8th and the 9th inning. Doug Bernier led the offense. He was 5-5 with his first double and four RBI. Brian Dinkelman went 4-5 with his first three doubles of the season. Joe Benson went 2-4 with his first triple. He scored four runs and stole his third base. New Britain Rock Cats 4, New Hampshire Fisher Cats 1 Box Score The Rock Cats had an early-morning wake up call on Thursday. They played a game scheduled to start a 10:35 a.m. eastern time. Likely not everyone was awake. The Rock Cats sent Alex Meyer to the mound against the Fisher Cats. The right-hander improved to 2-0 with six solid innings. He gave up one run on eight hits. He walked one and struck out seven. Aaron Thompson replaced him and gave up no runs in the 7th or 8th innings. He gave up three hits. Michael Tonkin recorded his third save with a scoreless ninth. Dan Rohlfing led the offense. He went 3-4. Jhon Goncalves was 2-3 and is now hitting .304 with the Rock Cats. Josmil Pinto was 2-4. Ft. On this night, he improved to 3-0 with six strong innings. He gave up two runs on six hits. He walked two and struckout five. Dakota Watts entered the game next, making his first appearance of the season. The hard-thrower gave up two hits and a walk, but no runs in his inning. 18. In his first game in Rochester, Hanson hit his first AAA home run!
  19. Buxton hit his 3rd home run of the season tonight.
  20. Tonight, Miguel Sano launched his 8th home run of the year/month!
  21. Exactly right. There so often is an injury or a lack of performance or something that makes it clear what needs to happen at that time.
  22. Matt Tomshaw activated from the Cedar Rapids DL.
  23. Ha! Ha! How about Leachman had seven hits over the course of two games? Something like that, maybe?
