  1. Heartbeat, Trump indictment, Trump death (he will be the oldest inaugurated president in history), etc....and that's even more scary to me.
  2. I hear countries to the south provide cheap labor. Perhaps you can get us to build that wall for you...as long as we're on your side when it's completed.
  3. Janet Reno passed away at 78
  4. Both writers I'd read before. Not "local celebs", but I guess I'd know them before I'd know someone writing for the STrib.
  5. It has nothing to do with a rib. That is one possible procedure, but TOS procedures date back a long way, and there are many types. I did an entire article on it for Call To The Pen and talked with a guy at the Mayo Clinic about the surgery. It's the result of baseball's over-indulgence on velocity, though unlike with Tommy John, this can be life threatening, as in the case with J.R. Richard, who was one of the first "major" big leaguers to have the surgery.
  6. Carl Edwards, Jr. the closer?
  7. Cubs take the lead. Wowser.
  8. I'll ask for this inning especially. Do you go back to Chapman for the 10th if you score in the top of the inning?
  9. It is crazy that when Chapman throws a "looping" slider, it's 85 MPH.
  10. He lays that down, you have fielders in horrible position attempting to find traction on wet grass to even get the ball, let alone get footing to make a throw. I get why, but with the count full, it was a bad time.
  11. Yeah, they wanted him to bunt. He just whiffed on it.
  12. Lindor is fun to watch play. He's no Simba, but he's tremendous out there!
  13. LOL! Get Coco the F out of there! May be a throw needed! Have to admit that I had hoped that Crisp would be tasked with an important throw at some point.
  14. Interesting you waited until now to join in...
  15. We went on a trip that included 10 games in 10 parks as part of multiple other visits, including Niagara Falls, Cooperstown, NYC for multiple nights, DC, Philly, and the NFL HOF. Got to see Scherzer's near-perfecto in person as part of our honeymoon.
  16. Wow. That's terrible. Edit: NVM. Geez. Thought they were going to call out Heyward!
  17. Not saying they do, but if the Cubs do take the lead, do you go back to Chapman for the 9th?
  18. Heyward has been on a redemption path since game 5...
  19. Pouring rain. Leadoff walk in the 9th.
  20. Yeah, when we were there for our honeymoon, the park was full, but it was also Tigers/Indians, and at the time, they were fighting for first place.
  21. Nah, either way, they were advertising the parade route in town before game 5. That's just not right, and they've ended up in game 7.
  22. Wow. I even said to my wife "might be best just to let Lester finish this inning". Hindsight and all.
  23. Cleveland fans are going to find that karma is a bee-yotch. All those "3-1" parties and posters around town throughout the year....now they're coming back to bite them in the butt.
  24. Oh, don't disagree, but he wasn't the sharpest at all, either. Nevermind the running concerns, which likely allowed runners a running start on any wild pitch. I'd have him start an inning, but I don't want a guy who's uncomfortable throwing to a base coming in with guys on base in game 7.
  25. Dang, I love Rossy!
