  1. Well, good, were on the same page then... Did that happen Yesterday?
  2. not the right place for this, I know, but since I'm sick of Butera talk I want to throw it out there. The Twins have a couple pitchers in NB pitching very well. Hermsen and Perdomo are doing pretty decent, and since the Twins dug into the Rochester cookie jar and pulled out Tyler Robertson, is it time to call them up and so we have someone (if they pitch well) that is an option if (God forbid) we need another pitcher? we are getting skimpy at the AAA level.
  3. I am a big fan of Washington. I have liked them since they moved to d.c. I also have a soft spot for Baltimore and Pittsburgh
  4. Cole Nelson- 22 year old, 6'7, 235 pound, LHP from Edina, Minnesota. Drafted by Detroit in the 10th round of the 2010 draft out of Auburn. Acquired by Twins in the Delmon Young trade. He had made 5 relief appearances for Ft. Myers last season. He started the year in the bullpen again this season going 1-0 with a 4.96 ERA over 16.1 innings. He had 20K/6BB. His last 4 appearances have been as a starter. He has gone 2-1 with a 2.18 ERA over 20.2 innings with 19K/10BB. The biggest difference has been the opponents batting average. As a reliever he allowed a .303 average compared to a .200 average as a starter. In his 47.1 innings in Ft. Myers he has allowed just 1 home run. Scouts say his fastball sits around 90-91mph topping out around 93. He has a good breaking ball (some scouts say its a curve and others say slider). If he wants to be a starter long term he will have to develop at least one more plus pitch, most likely a change up. http://www.milb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_571985.jpg
  5. If they tie the game and we need a pinch hitter later we have better options. No one on the bench is going to hit one out anyway so not a big deal.
  6. Really decent outing for Frankie though. Just no offense. Either we Get 15 hits or 5, 8 runs or 1. We can't seem to be consistent
  7. About time! My goodness! Now let someone play in his place for a week or two then throw buxton in there. I no I no that's not going to happen. But hey I can dream can't I?
  8. Right now the twins can either pay him 5.5 million to lose us games next year or they can cut ties and pay a total of 8 million or so by signing another average pitcher who might win some games. Great options.
  9. anybody who has been on here complaining about Gray needs to at least give him this one. Come on guys he went 3 scoreless innings throwing 54 pitches. He does a hell of a job when the games on the line. He isn't flashy but he and revere are the reasons why we had the opportunity to win this game.
  10. Any chance that hauser will get stretched into a starter? I know that wasn't the plan going into today but just a thought. And is it obvious that hirshfeld is getting called up with Hendriks almost a lock to join the twins this weekend? And shouldn't hermsen be moved up soon? We are out of guys in AAA that can even be called decent starters.
  11. Gray had the best outing today. He isn't flashy but he doesn't suck. He hasn't lost a game for us either. He pitches well in tight spots. I don't get what peoples problem is with him. Excited for Oliveros to be up. He will be closing by next season
  12. Not with us headed for the NL parks. They will need the bench.
  13. That would be the first move before the game tomorrow after the MRI result. Then I would guess that manship goes when Hendricks comes up for Saturday.

  15. Agree with parm DHing every now and then, but against a lefty is not the time
  16. I agree that Span is replaceable now with Revere ready to step into center. Right field could be filled this year with Parmelee/Mastorianni/Doumit. Arcia should be promoted any day now. If he performs well in AA which he should, He could be a September callup and start next season in the MLB. It is possible. Otherwise, yes they can fill it easier in FA.
  17. Time to build for the playoffs. Trade Liriano Blackburn and Valencia for an above average starter.
  18. Think we get Swarzak or Burnett? Then Burton Perkins Capps if were leading by 3 runs or less
  19. Theres the Mauer double you were looking for earlier!
  20. I wrote a blog the other day about my projected 25 man roster for next season and I had us trading him for a grounds worker. He just isn't an MLB pitcher.
  21. this game got uncomfortable in the last five minutes
  22. If Plouffe continues to play this well I think that they trade either Valencia or Span. Span will draw more but be harder to part with. They might go that route if they value Valencia more than other GMs might. I say either one because they could move revere to center and Plouffe to right. The Delmon trade isnt looking bad. Cole Nelson looks like he could be a very solid starter with K potential. And Oliveros could be a future closer.
  23. Minor league update Rochester losing 2-0 in the 7th. Valencia and Wilkin Ramirez 2 singles each. NB postponed Ft. Myers up 5-3 in the 7th. Danny Rams grand slam Beloit losing 3-1 in the 4th. Matthew Koch double and a run scored.
