  1. But yet there aren't enough bullpen innings to go around. /deadhorse
  2. Wow, we agree on something, it feels like it's been months since that happened. Or maybe it's just the putridity of the season making it seem that way.
  3. Bert amassed 90 bWAR, 110 fWAR, he doesn't really belong in the same conversation as these guys.
  4. If I make a crass comment about Mauer nearly taking a pitcher's head off, and no one is following the game to read it, is it still insensitive?
  5. Rice was a putrid addition that put a big dent in the selection standards.
  6. I don't like using borderline (or worse) players in the hall as reasoning to let other borderline candidates in. You'll end up in a never ending spiral of lowering standards. That said, I wouldn't object to his election.
  7. In the world where your entire lineup is capable of posting an .800+ OPS.
  8. Can Cole Devries finish the season with more home runs allowed than walks? I can barely contain my excitement.
  9. Dick Allen also got the anti-Puckett media treatment.
  10. Is a .900 OPS the same in Colorado as it is in San Diego?
  11. Looks like Rod Beck.
  12. e) Luis Perdomo and his 6 k/9 in AAA "earned" and "deserves" a look. f) His stuff doesn't play. g) He has a weak mustache. h) Just because.
  13. You read my mind. But there's just no way they could find enough relief innings to go around if they had one more reliever, no way whatsoever.
  14. I'm sick of Burnett's putrid strikeout rate, mediocre walk rate, and fluke ERA.
  15. Hammer does know where right field is.
  16. Well that was a putrid "ball" call.
  17. This is the series I've been looking forward to.
  18. He signed the largest contract in all of baseball once, then nearly did it again a few years later (only the 3rd highest in all of baseball). He didn't leave much money on the table.
  19. Thankfully emulators have alleviated these problems.
  20. It's just a .gif file, not a video, so it's the same as posting a picture.
  21. http://thechive.files.wordpress.com/2012/09/well-played-g3.gif
  22. Well, it works a little something like this.... Slama's "stuff" doesn't "play" at the ML level, while the "stuff" those other guys have (apparently) does. But it's special "stuff" they possess, it doesn't work at the AAA level. I don't know what to say, I tried. *shrug*
  23. At this point, I don't see anything stopping it. They're going to continue to flush that roster spot down the crapper until the day Mauer officially moves off the position and they acquire a full-time catcher. I'm sure a "ML front office" can do no wrong though, giving plate appearances to a historically awful bat while playing a man short nearly every game.
