  1. I don't really care about this one way or another, but I do find the club's statement in the linked article interesting. They say they were hoping it would go viral and were happy with the result, and they apologize to anyone who was offended. I still don't get that, and I've seen many companies start using this tactic - not admitting they did anything wrong, but being sorry if some were offended. Almost makes the apology meaningless, in my view.
  2. And may I say how nice it is to have a game completed in less than 3 hours for a change?
  3. I never get to see the post-game comments (I have mlb.tv which cuts off immediately) but I hope they press Gardy on why he gave Albers the hook.
  4. I can see the post-game report: "Doesn't follow through; lacks commitment."
  5. Boy, I'm sure glad they put in a reliever here. Nice job, Fien.
  6. OK, I gotta question this - 7 run lead, two outs to go - why not let the kid try to finish it out?
  7. So how much credit do we give to Albers, and how much to Herrmann?
  8. "Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us." Not sure where I heard that, but it sounds familiar.
  9. I don't know about that. 4 months of game threads can give a pretty good insight into who someone really is.
  10. >Say more about that. >What do you think that means? >Why is this important to you?
  11. Excellent counseling technique. It's just like they teach us.
  12. OK, he's starting to weaken. Let's get Carroll ready to go...
  13. Has anybody told Albers that it is in extremely poor taste to make the rest of the rotation look foolish?
  14. Your wife is home, and you were thinking and talking about taking a scantily-clad neighbor to a party? Man, that's guts!
  15. You need to think 3-dimensionally - it could be the right or left half or the front or back half also.
  16. Wonder if we can move him for a prospect - his value may never be higher.
  17. I'm not sure I care either way.
  18. Way to take one for the team, Chief!
  19. Are you sure they're twins? I'm having trouble seeing the resemblance...
  20. Jamie Carroll...Renaissance man! He pitches, he hits, he makes plays in the field...
  21. The two are mosty unrelated - you are under contract for as long as you are under contract, whether you are on the 40-man or not, and whether you are in the majors or not. That said, there are some roster rules, designed to protect players, that might come into play. For example, you can only be removed from the 40-man roster once against your consent. If they try to remove you a second time and you clear waivers, you can elect to become a free agent at that time.
  22. These games are so much more fun to watch when the starter doesn't get tapped for 6 runs in the 2nd inning.
  23. So far you haven't shown us anything...we're still waiting on that picture.
