  1. Back to an earlier question, the Twins aren't calling anyone up because Esco will be back for Sunday's game.
  2. Um...it would be nice to capitalize occasionally. I.e. the Twins...not in your posts.
  3. One team will get its first win of the season today. Let it be the Twins.
  4. http://blogs.twincities.com/twins/2015/04/03/twinsights-all-15-twins-organization-ped-suspensions-since-2005/ Berardino provides a list.
  5. They may count the same but they may not have the same impact on momentum. Especially not when all but 3 games in April are against Division rivals. I was hoping for a "hot start" from this team to take advantage of the schedule. I don't feel like the Twins have placed the same importance on that. I wish Monday would get here. The more I read, the less hopeful I get.
  6. I hope the starting pitchers can each go 8 or 9 every night.
  7. Really interesting read -- thanks, Parker. Combines some human interest with a bit of an explanation about his approach. Looks like this may have been a good pickup -- and reasonably priced. Still shaking my head on Stauffer.
  8. I got a little concerned about his confidence level after reading Molitors comments in the Berardino article: “I don’t think anybody likes to face him,” Molitor said of Meyer. “He has to start understanding that. He can take command of those situations. It’s going to be more about confidence for him to develop that presence. “ Seems like it is a matter of it all coming together for him. http://blogs.twincities.com/twins/2015/03/20/twinsights-paul-molitor-on-alex-meyers-missing-swagger/
  9. I wasn't watching yesterday's game closely but it seems like Hicks bounced back from his benching. 2-2 plus a walk amd a stolen base I did notice him paying a lot of attention to Butch Davis when he was on first. Now to maintain his attention.
  10. I really enjoyed that. Thanks. Happy for his Canadian baseball HOF selection. I also like the way he emphasizes fun in youth sports and chastises overzealous parents,
  11. I want the players to look like they are having fun (preferably because they are) even if the record isn't that much different. We read about the "library" like atmosphere in the clubhouse the last couple of years. I think the Twins have set out to change that. No more cell phones or ipads (or card games) 30 minutes before gametime. Additions of Torii and Ervin -- both outgoing guys with a visible love of the game. I hope for the continued emergence of Vargas who radiates fun. Look forward to Sano who also has a big personality. I also think Hughes & Perkins can be pretty dynamic. Even if they don't win more, at least they won't dull us to death,
  12. I came in here to mention the same thing, Thrylos. I voted last night for Hunter because I do think he is currently the most marketable. With young players, it's tough but I think Vargaa, Sano, Arcia all have tremendous market potential. And if he starts hitting dingers, I think it is Vargas hands down -- that smile and personality are absolutely infectious.
  13. Well, it's Spring so I'm hoping this all works out. I'm another one who didn't fully appreciate how popular Hunter would be. And we'll hope his game doesn't fall off a cliff until he's 42. We can talk about prospects/young players all we want bur for the most part we haven't seen them yet. I think severak iof them have the charisma to replace Torii (Vargas would be my top choice) but they have a lot to show us on the field first.
  14. Loved both parts of this, Can't wait to see who you catch up with next.
  15. LOVE these stories and photos. Thank you both. I wish I had some distinct memories of trips to the Met & "big city" but most of my recollection are just vague impressions
  16. True. I think Halsey has said that he is putting in a lot of time on Perry's Hill so he should be getting a good workout that translates to MORE POWER!
  17. –Outfielder Eddie Rosario has moved his offseason home to Miami, which made it easier for him to commute to the Twins’ complex in Fort Myers this winter. http://blogs.twincities.com/twins/2015/02/20/twinsights-lhp-lewis-thorpe-progressing-well-elbow-scare/
  18. Patrick Reusse ‏@1500ESPN_Reusse · 2h2 hours ago Kennys Vargas went to Puerto Rico to attend a wedding. Twins hope he avoids cake. Weighed 289 (I heard) at TwinsFest; had lost 8 lbs. since.
