  1. Just opening up a spot on the 40 man for Matt Garza. That sounds about right.
  2. See you at Rochester Eric Fryer. I would assume he would be taken off the 40 man. Should clear. He hasn't hit for much in minors or his tiny bit oftime in the majors.
  3. Buster Olney ‏@Buster_ESPN 1h Part of reason Twins clearing money is to add another starting pitcher (Bronson Arroyo?) This would be crazy to sign Hughes, Nolasco, Pelfrey and Arroyo.
  4. I think we are probably not doing anything at catcher. If we sign Arroyo for two or three years, I think guys like May and Berrios become trade bait along with Rosario for offensive upgrades. That would leave the final one or two spots in the rotation to be fought out among Meyer, Gibson and eventually Stewart over the next two or three years.
  5. Do we need to clear a spot before the rule 5 draft?
  6. Darren Wolfson on twitter thinks they are still checking in on John Buck who I assume would replace Fryar on the 40 man if signed. Jeremy Nygaard seems to think they are still in on Bronson Arroyo and could surprise us with a signing at the winter meetings. I would be thrilled with both these moves but if we also draft a rule 5 guy, that is two other roster spots that would need to be created on the 40 man. Also, 5 man rotation would be set with Nolasco, Hughes, Arroyo, Correa, and Deduno. Gibson would be at AAA in that scenario.
  7. I want Joe Saunders added to this staff. Two years and $15 million sounds about right. Somebody is bound to get hurt out of Diamond, Saunders, Pelfrey, Worley and Correia. So Hendricks, Gibson, May and Meyer will get their shot eventually We have very few quality lefty starters outside of Diamond in this organization. I would rather have too many starters then not enough.
  8. 1. Bourn CF 2. Mauer C 3. Willingham LF 4. Morneau 1B 5. Doumit DH 6. Plouffe 3B 7. Parmelee RF 8. Dozier 2B 9. Florimon SS SP: Lohse
  9. Any interest in Chris Carpenter (the young one), pitcher from the Red Sox who has pretty decent minor league numbers. Just got bumped off their 40 man. Has to be better then a few of our guys on our 40 man.
  10. Will it be Edwin Jackson or someone off the scrap heap?
  11. Tom Brunansky. I think the Twins are pretty high on him. The Twins did hit really well two years ago with Vavra but didn't do much last year and look awful this year.
  12. If we win like five of our first 20 or so and Dozier is still hitting, Terry Ryan will at least have to think about going young at that position.
  13. How long until Jamey Carrol gets replaced by Brian Dozier. Carrol is hitless and Dozier is just killing it down in triple A. Hitting over .450 with three doubles and a homer tonight. We are not looking good in the bigs. We need this guy.
