  1. 1. I'd go with "Get It Right Next Time" He's deliberately copying Bob Dylan's writing style but it works. However the Sax on Baker Street... Is perfect. 2. Yeah... I gotta sue you... My lawyers will contact yours. If you gotta do Neil Cherry Cherry or Brother Love. 3. Almost anything from the Beatles will work 4. Jawbone -- Interesting choice... You have some game. 5. I'm gonna have to listen to Lady Cab driver.
  2. To Love Somebody -- Bee Gees... Impossible not to sing along with
  3. Absolutely... Thunder Island... No doubt. Sha La La La La La my lady. Or Shakedown cruise or anything from Spirit... I got a line on you... That was also Jay Ferguson.
  4. Walking on Sunshine is a guilty pleasure of mine. "And don't it feel good" and then the horns. Great driving in the car tune... Loud volume... Windows open and singing along. I can do Katrina and the Waves and Black Sabbath.
  5. You ain't wrong at all and that is exactly why music is great. A song has to fit you and when it does... You know it. Many Artists will not say publicly what a song is really about because they want the listener to fill in that blank with themselves. The songs on my list... I have personally made them greater then they are because of my how I fill in that blank. Down By The River is a great song because it's about overcoming addiction. If Neil were to say... Nah... I put a cap in some infants ass and that's what it's about... That song would plummet off my list. BTW... Artie Butler on Piano... Mad Dogs and Englishmen. I agree that Artie nailed it and don't forget the percussion. The percussion moves the song along.
  6. No one even dares try. It can't be done.
  7. Give her some funked up music... She treats you nice... Feed her some hungry reggae... She'll love you twice... The girls don't seem to care what's on... As long as it plays til dawn. No Static at All. Wrong... I think not. With Jimi... He's a polarizing act. You either love him or hate him. I've never been a fan of his vocals but that song... Little Wing is beyond words good. That one came down from the heavens and Jimi was just the earthly vehicle it arrived in. When you hear someone who can really sing do it. It sends chills down your spine. "Its alright... She says its alright... Take anything that you want from me... Anything". With Joe... I can listen to him all day... I just think he blew the interpretation of the song. Dave Mason wrote it as a song of sadness. The girl was working him over... It's sarcastic sadness... You Feelin alright... I'm not feeling to good myself" when Joe sings it with the background singers... It sounds like a party. It wasn't. Joe's fault tho and I still enjoy his version. However... Joe wasn't expecting to tour. He showed up in America to relax... Hang out and get stoned. He was informed that he was contractually obligated to do some gigs in America. He had to throw a show together quickly and. Leon Russell was the guy who was hired to put it together... The material... The arrangements. And it was Leon... While working real fast that changed the sentiment of the song. All in All...it's a nitpick because Joe and his band put on a great last minute show and it cemented Joe as one of the greatest singers of our lifetimes.
  8. 1. Good call with Ain't wasting time no more... My favorite Allman Brothers tune. 2. I love Joe Cocker but in this case I prefer the Traffic Dave Mason Original. For Cocker... You can leave your hat on or Delta Lady. 3. Good call on My Old School... But I still got FM and Deacon Blues ahead of it. 4. Third Rate Romance... That doesn't fit your list. 5. I love Honky Tonk Women... How can you not but the have have so many. Dead Flowers... Monkey Man.... Sympathy... Tumbling Dice... Almost anything with Taylor on Guitar. My list: 1. Down by the River -- Neil Young or any cover of. 2. Since I've been Loving You - Led Zeppelin... Zeppelin and Zeppelin only. 3. Little Wing - Jimi Hendrix or any cover of. 4. Don't Thing Twice It's alright - Bob Dylan or any cover of. 5. Bell Bottom Blues -- Derek and the Dominoes
  9. Game-time forecast: Sunny. Winds blowing in from left field at 5-10 m.p.h. Temperature around 70. ChiTown will be along with the lineups. She will post them right here. Official Scorebooks can be found at your local sporting goods store. Get a book and enter the lineups in and play along at home. Ignore what the official scorer does. Use your own judgement. TWINS: SP, Pino Danny Santana CF Brian Dozier 2B Trevor Plouffe 3B Josh Willingham LF Kurt Suzuki C Kennys Vargas DH Oswaldo Arcia RF Chris Parmelee 1B Eduardo Escobar SS PALE HOSE: SP, Carroll Adam Eaton CF Gordon Beckham 2B Jose Abreu 1B Adam Dunn DH Alexei Ramirez SS Conor Gillaspie 3B Dayan Viciedo RF Alejandro De Aza LF Adrian Nieto C ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Things to Think About: 1. Sale vs Darnell -- On paper we were supposed to lose that matchup last night. However... the Twins scoring 8 runs was not supposed to happen against Sale. And if you score 8 runs... you shouldn't lose the game. Darnell gets a thumbs down and so does the bullpen. And while the thumb is in the down position. My thumb is down because I don't want to give the White Sox hitters any credit at all. 2. Jake Petricka -- Last night... I got a chance to actually watch him pitch and despite making it interesting... I gotta say... He was sharp. A local boy out of Faribault High School... Right here in Minnesota. The Twins let one get out of the state. Petricka apparently has quietly become the Sox closer and it looks like he could stay there for awhile. He's got a real hard sinker with good movement on it. If it wasn't for a couple of scratch infield singles for the Twins. The end wouldn't have been interesting at all. This Petricka kid can throw. 3. Yohan Pino -- Pino toes the rubber tonight against Scott Carroll. A match up of a couple pitchers who are trying to keep the major league dream alive. Yohan has been interesting during his short time. He doens't throw comparatively high. He throws hard for High School but for the majors... he doesn't throw hard at all but he mixes it up and does a decent job hitting his spots and if he does that today... He will be OK... If he doesn't... The Way the Sox are hitting... It'll be trouble. The Sox seem to be ready to cash in on a few mistakes. 4. Kennys Vargas -- Kennys got that MLB Debut out of the way last night. He can at least celebrate with a double in his debut. I'm going to hold off judgement until I see him with a few more breaking pitches. As of last night... He looked dangerous every time he came to the plate but I think he saw some major league pitches and a few of them he didn't know what to do with them. Patience everyone... Let's hope his learning curve is real quick. 5. Optometry -- I've worn glasses for quite some time now. I was in Elementary school when I got my first pair. My eyes were never that bad... Just a little bit whatever. As a matter of fact... Until I was 45 years old. I would take off my glasses at the DMV when taking my vision test and I would pass it every time. Therefore... I was legal to drive without glasses. Fast forward to today... I couldn't take that test and pass. I now take off my glasses to read and then put them back on to see stuff out the window... I never knew if I was far sighted or near sighted when I was younger... I was just a little of whatever it was... and now that I'm older... Far Sighted? Near Sighted? I could care less because I think I'm both.
  10. Alright.. I'm sick.. I need sleep... Good night all
  11. Still time for a third... You just gotta apply yourself.
  12. If Plouffe Gets on by a toenail... I'm ok with that.
  13. If Dozier singles by a toenail every time... It'll be alright.
  14. So I said: No No... You don't understand... I want to make love to you badly. She said: yeah badly... Like usual.
  15. I just told me wife... "i'm gonna make you the happiest girl in the whole world" She said "Finally... Well the kids are gonna miss you".
  16. Larceny is how I acquire most of my possessions.
  17. I walked into a bar in Memphis... The Bartender asked me "what'll you have". I hadn't thought about it... So I said "Surprise Me" He gave me a nude photo of Ernest Borgnine
  18. The Twins Bullpen is good until it isn't.
  19. It's Ok... There are times when I type stuff... Post... Pause... Read it... And I don't understand what I just typed.
  20. They are baggy and thin... Kind like Kleenex Pants for bigger people.
  21. Stories like this one are what it's all about. It's not the Hokey Pokey... Like the song says. Without stories like this... We'd all be trying to eat caviar while holding back farts. This is what it's all about.
  22. Parm Now imagine the font 5 times bigger
  23. For me... It helps if the first thing I do is... Squinting.
