  1. I'm not concerned at all 1. I've had my own personal issues with some Molitor decisions. Such as the playing time of certain players. I admit some things have left me completely frustrated but I will stay consistent and say that I won't blame a manager for thinking different than I do. A manager needs to think like he does. I personally wish he was Joe Maddon but I won't blame because he is not. 2. I can't imagine any interview scenario where this topic couldn't be put aside quickly. Pohlad: We'd like Molitor to stay on as manager. Candidate: I like Paul... He's a good baseball guy but can I ask why you feel this way. Pohlad: He's under contract for another year and Terry Ryan took the blame for the teams failing... We don't believe the blame belongs to Paul. Besides we just made a change at the top. What happens to Paul was going to be the next question. We felt it best to give him a vote of confidence. We had to roll out our season ticket plans. There are numerous reasons. Candidate: Fair Enough... I'll need some time to sit down with Paul and see if we can work together. If I determine that we can't... Will I be able to take the action necessary? Pohlad: Of course... That's what we are hiring you for.
  2. I don't recall ever seeing Plouffe leave his feet.
  3. I don't understand... How does an ordinary family sitting around and being difficult with Paul Giamatti make me want to buy Prism TV?
  4. I thought it was the eyeball of a now more careful... Erin Andrews. Disclaimer: My attempts at humor should never be taken as tacit approval of any criminal activities.
  5. Uff Da Buxton's throw landed on I-94
  6. Uff Da Napoli hit that one to Nicollet Island
  7. It is. isn't it It's why Polanco and Sano are struggling I'm going with that
  8. I predict the D.R. will be less and less of a SS factory as time goes by. The reason... Better field conditions. MLB teams are putting money in and building decent facilities. The D.R. baseball fields used to be in horrible shape... Shortstops used to have to learn field tough bounces off rocks. Not so much anymore.
  9. Those type of concerns would follow him to any base.
  10. When not in use... Happy Fun Buxton should be returned to its special container and kept under refrigeration. Failure to do so relieves the makers of Happy Fun Buxton... Wacky Products Incorporated, and its parent company, Global Chemical Unlimited, of any and all liability. Do not taunt Happy Fun Buxton
  11. If I was as fast as Buxton I could catch Antelope. Then I'll need claws and teeth. So... umm.. Nevermind.
  12. I'm not changing mine. Bark made mine especially for me.
  13. And she lived in a room just off the kitchen and dated the butcher.
  14. The Twins open up a 3-game series with the Indians tonight. The Twins pitching has been… umm… Hey! The Vikings kick off the season on Sunday. Here are some things to think about: The Twins open up a 3-game series with the Indians tonight. The Twins pitching has been… umm… Hey! The Vikings kick off the season on Sunday. Here are some things to think about: 1. Vikings -- The Vikings are Norse seafarers who traveled far and wide from their Scandinavian homelands as they pillaged their way across Europe during the Middle Ages. They come from the land of ice and snow… from the midnight sun where the hot springs flow… led by Hagar the Horrible and his first mate, Lucky Eddie. There is no historical evidence that Vikings wore horned helmets. There is also no historical evidence that they ate fish soaked in lye and no historical evidence that they were somber, introverted, simple-minded people with bad manners and muddy boots. There is no historical evidence, even though all of that perfectly describes the entire population of Fertile, Minnesota. 2. Lions -- I’m a different cat from time to time. For example… If you don’t see (True Story) brackets, you know I’m a Lion. 3. Bears -- I went Bear hunting once with a friend. We took a small private plane into the middle of nowhere deep into Northern Ontario. We got off the plane and the pilot says to my friend, “Now remember… we can only take one bear back… just one bear only.” I was a little concerned by this because we both had planned on each getting one bear. My friend took this same trip last year so he looked at me and said, “Don’t worry about it.” Eventually… we each got our bear and when the plane arrived to take us back… the pilot said… “It’s a small plane… I told both of you… one bear only.” My friend then said, “We had this same discussion last year… I gave you a hundred dollars and you let us take two bears back… here’s a hundred dollars… can we take two bears back?” The pilot took the money and said, “OK,” and off we went with the two bears. Turns out… the pilot was right… we made it maybe 20 miles when the plane crashed because of the weight of the bears. We were alright but I was pretty nervous so I asked the Pilot if he had any idea where we were… he said, “About the same place we crashed last year.” 4. Packers – Curly Lambeau founded the football team back in 1919. He solicited the funds needed for uniforms from his employer the Indian Packing Company and the funds came with the condition that the team was named after its sponsor. As the years went by… a new condition was created... all fans of the team must be obnoxious. 5. The Superbowl -- Generally… the earlier you purchase your airline tickets… the cheaper they are. So in an effort to save a few bucks, I’d go ahead and book your air travel to Houston for Superbowl LI now. Cheer on (spoiler alert) your Minnesota Vikings as they take on the Cleveland Browns. I believe Superbowl LI is the 51st Superbowl. I’m not sure… The big game used to be titled numerically. This year it is named after some Chinese guy. ____________________ Lineups: INDIANS Carlos Santana (S) 1B Jason Kipnis (L) 2B Francisco Lindor (S) SS Mike Napoli [R) DH Jose Ramirez (S) 3B Lonnie Chisenhall (L) RF Abraham Almonte (S) LF Tyler Naquin (L) CF Roberto Perez [R) C Danny Salazar [R) P TWINS Brian Dozier [R) 2B Jorge Polanco (S) SS Joe Mauer (L) 1B Miguel Sano [R) 3B Max Kepler (L) RF Kurt Suzuki [R) DH Logan Schafer (L) LF John Ryan Murphy [R) C Byron Buxton [R) CF Tyler Duffey [R) P Game-time forecast: Partly cloudy (if it rains today, it should dissipate by game time), 71 deg F, winds from the NW at 7mph. 16. When you consider the cost of Free Agents. Drafting and Development has to be extremely important to the long term health of an organization. Cutting corners here seems absolutely goofy. If I was the POBO... I'd not only expand but seriously compete for the best of the best by doubling salaries and that additional expense would add up to less than what Kurt Suzuki makes. For example... Not only would I expand our analytics department to help assess baseball talent. I'd also create a separate analytics department that only focuses on front office personnel across the league. Truly identify the best of the best with actual data and make offers that they can't refuse.
  17. AA certainly has shown aggressiveness. I don't know if he would be good or bad... but I'd bet on aggressive change.
  18. I've missed more games than I typically do lately so my eyes have a small sample size but... My opinion. I won't declare Escobar the superior defender at SS. They look very similar so far. To me it seems like if you are going to worry about Polanco defensively... than you have to worry about Escobar defensively. They seem like the same guy out there. In the context of the current team. SS is where we need them both.
  19. How could anyone forget Warroad. That would be like forgetting Two Harbors!!!
  20. http://donswaim.com/wcbslobby.jpg 100 Losses will only require a 11-12 Finish.
  21. Make sense but that's not how it works. It'll be some high schooler from Duluth East or New Ulm.
  22. Really... The 6th guy down... On the Top Page Freddie Patek?
