  1. FSN Apology Tour 2016 continues with this Smalley classic: "Duffey isn't pitching badly in the classic sense of the word 'badly' ".
  2. Dear Fans, Please post your thoughts about the 2016 Twins on our Facebook wall! Thanks, Dave St. Peter
  3. It seems ironic to me that the article begins with a kind of admonishment to critics of Twins management on a day when Twins management was repudiated by the firing of the man orchestrating the whole affair. But worse, and much more unfortunately, it seems factually incorrect to wave away 'the country club narrative' when it was more or less reaffirmed by the owner himself, who insisted that personal loyalty to Paul Molitor rather than the designs of a new GM would dictate who manned the helm of the 25 man roster in 2017.
  4. Promise? My interest in the Twins survived the Nishioka of middle infielders, but it may not survive the Nishioka of GM's.
  5. Ouch. I was thinking more along the lines of him breaking up a drunken scuffle at commencement.
  6. You boys better break it up before Chief steps in... http://66.media.tumblr.com/868ef7da06716652d5facfbb5b7c57bc/tumblr_n2ac4xeGeC1rujq2eo1_1280.jpg
  7. There's always going to be a grey area between being hurt and being injured, and the communication between player and medical/training staff will always be imprecise under the best of circumstances. That said, the Twins seem to be enduring more than their fair share of players playing through debilitating injuries, whether through their own concealment or failure of recognition on the part of the staff. Language considerations aside, it's particularly troubling with Park. A veteran like Plouffe may be able to judge whether the sore ribs made him tardy on a Chris Sale fastball he'd normally catch up to. But even if Park can describe how he feels, he doesn't have the experience in the league to give him external feedback on whether he's playing effectively through the pain instead of just ineffectively with the pain.
  8. Next 3 wins... http://img2.rnkr-static.com/list_img_v2/19540/339540/C520/the-very-best-of-the-futurama-fry-meme-u1.jpg ...or next 3 speeding tickets?
  9. Dick with the Mirror, Mirror reverse of his usual hysterical OMG calls on warning track fly balls. http://ashleyshockey.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/evilspock.jpg He probably wasn't expecting Vargas to achieve an exit velocity of roughly double the pitch speed...
  10. Vargas homering off the batting tee will look like he turned on an Aroldis Chapman 101 MPH heater in his season home run total.

  12. So you're saying Suzuki's three-on-the-tree transmission has a higher gear than JOG?
  13. Smalley can go several innings without saying anything of worth and then suddenly come up with something like taking the Ranger player to task for that dreadful lunging tag attempt instead of protecting the base. I'm amazed how often it happens and how seldom it's mentioned.
  14. Kepler has reached the point where I'd watch the Twins just to see him play. Come to think of it, until Sano came back that's almost exactly what I was doing.
  15. Don't get your hopes up. He can only listen to the calls that make it past Sarah the Twins operator...
  16. Only four AL teams are 10 or more games out of first in their respective division, or five teams if you count the Twins (21.5) twice...
  17. Great game for Duffey. Please, Paul, take the 6 innings and run. Besides, wouldn't want the bullpen to get rusty after sitting through that first complete game of the year.
  18. Duffey still looking good for that 170 pitch CGSHO.
  19. Because stats be damned, he LOOKS like a ballplayer! Rob Antony's hunches are like gold when it comes to player valuations...
  20. Raise your hand if you'd have been shocked if this Twins outfit had saved its most exciting comeback win for one of a dozen games that's not on TV this year...
  21. Taking the needless out is bad enough, but getting 'out-managed' by Dusty 'walks are bad' Baker... ouch. http://www.famousbirthdays.com/thumbnails/baker-dusty-large.jpg
  22. Get drunk, dress a pet like a hotdog, and pass out? http://statsstylescore.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/hank.jpg Never mind, I was thinking of my central MN relatives...
