  1. I occasionally hear rumblings of the Saints becoming an affiliate of the Twins. How cool would it be for the Saints to be the Twins AAA affiliate? Granted, CHS field would be like the second lowest capacity in AAA. Even the Midwest League affiliate would be pretty cool..... I remember going to see Mauer and Ortiz play against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers when I lived out that way.
  2. Specifically, his latest starts in Rochester suggested Berrios was effectively adhering to a blueprint of attacking the zone relentlessly rather than trying to throw past hitters or maximize the gas. Or, you know.....he's cheating. (sarcasm)
  3. "one of the best performances you’ve seen in the minors since Twins Daily came into existence (trust me on this). But he also took the loss despite his efforts" This is the most "Minnesota Sports" statement ever.....
  4. Falvey came from Cleveland, right? Are we sure there isn't a clause where if Target Field attendance dips below a certain level, they can relocate the team to Miami?
  5. So does Haley have to be on the 25 man roster all season since he was traded to us? If not, how do teams not collude more often to swap Rule V picks?
  6. I guess Molitor said yesterday that Duffey is going to the bullpen.
  7. I'm becoming more and more intrigued with Wimmers as a long man out of the bullpen. With all the issues he's had throughout his career, I'd like to see him get a shot in that role.
  8. Looking at Jake Reed's last ten outings, he seems to have developed some more consistency.
  9. So with reports that Hughes is out until September, how's about putting him on the 60-day and getting Wheeler back on the 40 man?
  10. Griffin Jax.... I guess we won't see him in the GCL until 2022....
  11. Any chance Jared Horn or Zach Jackson are on the Twins radar?
  12. Any chance they go after Prior Lake's Nick Hanson?
  13. Or the guy tied for 4th in the AL in Batting Average.....
  14. He's also second in the Southern League with 61 strikeouts. That's approaching Adam Walker (and Buxton, and Sano, and Park, and Arcia) territory. Huh, by that logic maybe we should just bring Palka up to the big leagues....
  15. It's a miracle.....Well, at least one was rain-shortened..... There's no question that we're in desperate times. Outside of a night with the Ice Capades or a total system failure of the Pentair Water Recycling System, there's not many solutions out there to salvage this incinerating trash receptacle of a season. However, for the long term health of this franchise, there are some moves that absolutely need to be made: Send the following players to AAA: Miguel Sano, Brian Dozier, and Trevor May Hear me out.... It's no secret that Miguel Sano didn't put in the work in to make the move to the outfield. He's overweight, apparently has attitude issues and appears to be happy just to be a Major League Baseball Player. So basically, he's the Twins version of Cordarrelle Patterson. He needs to earn his way back to this roster. Send him down to AAA, have him play 3rd and if and when it becomes time to trade Trevor Plouffe, bring him back if performance allows. Brian Dozier is hitting .199. Enough said. Give Jorge Polanco an extended opportunity to see what we have while Dozier works on his swing. Trevor May isn't cutting it out of the bullpen. And I've seen a few calls on this page to make him a starter again. At this point, perhaps we should see if he's capable. Send him down to "stretch him out" so he can be ready when another starter eventually goes on the DL. Call up the following players from AAA: JT Chargois, James Beresford, Jorge Polanco Chargois is absolutely dominating AAA. Sure it's a small sample size, but he has the potential to be a dominant reliever. And could he be much worse than what's being thrown out there day after day? One of the main criticisms around Jorge Polanco is that he never gets an extended opportunity. This would be his chance while Dozier figures out his swing. Then around the trade deadline, maybe one or the other could be a potential trade chip. With Perkins having a setback, they could place him on the 60-day DL in order to create the roster spot for Beresford. He's done everything he can at AAA and has earned the chance to at least play a utility role.
  16. I don't hate this. But what do you do with Mauer, his monster salary and no trade clause?
  17. If Kennys Vargas continues to put up solid numbers, could he be a potential trade chip? His skill set is essentially the same as Park's, so there's no real use for him on the Twins active roster. Not a centerpiece for a trade, but a good complimentary piece?
