  1. I'm not gonna lie to you Blake. I'd take a great deep dish pizza over a great standard pizza everyday of the week and twice on Sundays. I will then die of a heart attack.
  2. Good game. Santana nailed it. Offense did enough, Buxton was killer with the glove. The KC bullpen fell apart. It is nice to have a W under under our belts on game one. Parting words: Mike Sixel, you are still upright, you are still breathing... Happy Birthday!
  3. Yeah, that was a complicated piece. You pushed me to my limits.
  4. CASTRO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the Royals Bay of Pigs.
  5. Happy Birthday Mike. Like you told me just about 2 years ago when I turned 40 and I was bummed. "At least you're upright or breathing". One of those two.
  6. Ask and thou shall receive. Let's all take a swig in honor of Van's fallen Uncle. R.I.P. Win Twins!!!
  7. I hope Seth's prediction happens Van, but your prediction is pretty much the same thing I would predict, maybe a slightly higher OPS.
  8. I feel pretty damn bad for Park. He had a killer spring training. I know he K'ed a lot, but that will probably always be the case with him. That comes with Big Power sometimes. I give him the benefit of the doubt for last year because he was a stranger in a strange land. He did not know the language, maybe he studied the customs of Americans, maybe not, either way it is a transition that is very difficult to say the least and plus he was ailing from a wrist injury(?) He did provide us with some awesome moments the first two months of last season. Hopefully the Twins just have a roster mess on there hands and they can sort that out and get him back up here in the next month. I think we all want to know if he can cut the mustard and we need to come to that conclusion.
  9. .252Avg. • 37HRs • .820OPS • Manic Defense • 175Ks
  10. Like Jimbo, I am also big on Rosario. I have made predictions on other threads, I am not going to reference them for this thread. .288BA • 22HRs • 21SB • .800OPS - this includes a trip to the All Star Game.
  11. I expected this outcome to a degree with the hope that Chargois would have a good spring and make the club - that didn't happen and it is a bummer. The rotation is a bummer as well - not because I don't think they can hold there own if everything breaks right, but it is such an unknown. Santana should be good/okay, but everyone else could have a 5+ ERA, but on the other hand they also could have a 4.00ERA. That is probably wishful thinking. The decision that Berrios made for himself did not go his way (WBC), and I don't fault him for it, the Mejia/Duffey battle for the 5th spot is intriguing, but only for the reason of being in a position where we don't have a bright shining prospect in the mix for that spot. Mejia and Duffey could have really good careers. To assume such would be fool hardy. I have mentioned the 1996 Twins team on this site a few times over the years. They had about as bad a pitching staff as you can imagine, but they had a high powered offense and it made a lot of games fun to watch. They didn't have much power in an era which was dominated by that, but they hammered the ball, took some BBs and it worked out (for the offense). This team won 78 games. Really, that is the only expectation I have for this season (fingers crossed).
  12. Switch out the word medicine and the possibilities have no limit.
  13. Bark off of his medicine: 610PA • .318 Avg. • 23HR • 41-2B • .930OPS Bark on his Medicine: 475PA • .267BA • 8HR • 27-2B • 750OPS
  14. I get it. Over the years I have become apathetic with this team. I was just trying to make a rusty, valueless coin look shiny, new, and valuable. I lie to myself and trick myself to cope and make it through the days. I am my own personal David Copperfield.
  15. I find it exciting that Mejia and Duffy are battling it out for the 5 spot. Berrios is 22 going on 23. He will be in the mix shortly.
  16. I certainly agree that Jay looks like a wasted six pick. I feel strongly this is what Jay wanted for his own more guaranteed outlook. Money is money and the shut down relievers are getting paid these days. His outlook is probably more in line with "This experiment is going to set me years behind getting to the Majors and who knows if it will fricking work?" It's a dream job whether you are a reliever or a starter. The above standard starters do not come around often and I can certainly see how he could have his doubts about being able to make that transition with a favorable outcome. Obviously this is all speculation on my part, but if it is true, put yourself in his shoes. I don't want to piss and moan about it because he is a Ryan pick. Certainly Johnson is still in the poll position, but who knows what he has to deal with from other talking heads on draft day. I want to give Falvey a fair chance over the next few years to change what we are griping over today. I have no reason to date not to trust his philosophy.
